Alpina 2012 T5 Cross Country Ski Boots

Sale: $34.00

The Alpina T5 XC boots fit NIS/NNN XC Bindings (T4 sole) and are super light and warm due to some plush Thinsulate insulation. The T5 boots are going to best serve XC recreational XC skiers that are spending most of their time gliding through prepared trails. These boots are lightweight, and somewhat softer than more advanced XC boots (although even a 'stiff' XC boot will be far softer than a downhill boot), and have strong treads that will provide lots of traction as your hiking around town and the wilderness in winter conditions.

These NNN/NIS boots will only work with NNN/NIS style bindings. Brand is irrelevant but the plate of your bindings must be for an NNN sole boot.

Lacing System: Standard polyester laces, but with the top eyelet being a hard plastic hook that lets you cinch the boots down tight and won't let go of the laces as you're moving all day.

Thinsulate Insulation: Thinsulate is very popular insulation, used in gloves, boots, jackets, hats and a dozen other items worldwide because it is extremely lightweight and moisture resistant, and extremely warm.

Polyester Lining: Polyester is the perfect lining for cross country boots as it resists water, wicks away sweat, provides a fair amount of insulation, all while being soft to the touch. Pretty much every ski sock on the planet is a polyester blend of some sort, for the same reasons that the lining of this boot is made of polyester. Cotton and wool are on 2 sides of the spectrum that polyester splits right down the middle. What a great and magical fabric.
