70 Flex Index: This boot has a flex rating of 70, which is best suited for beginner and intermediate skiers. Softer boots will be more comfortable, but won't offer enough stability at higher speeds. Stiffer than 70 will give that stability, but start to get a little less comfortable. 102-106mm Last: This shell width of this boot is automatically adjustable (thanks to the Live Fit System), and is perfect for recreational skiers, those with average to wide feet, and skiers that like comfort for their feet. That probably makes up 95 percent of the skiing population.
i-flex insert: A flexible plastic under the middle of the foot to allow the boot to flex as the ski flexes under pressure. This helps smooth out turns and returns energy back to the ski to help rebound into the next turn.
Live Fit: The Live Fit system consists of two elastic zones at the forefoot that instantly adapt to the foot width of the skier. The shell adapts between 102 and 106mm, providing a custom type fit without the hassle of heat molding and expensive shell modifications. Basically, this feature makes these boots fit almost any skier.
Single Micro Excenter canting: Single canting on the outside of the ankle that will help correct an uneven ski platform. The adjuster stays right in the center, and pivots the boot without changing the fit or flex of the boot. Mega Buckles: Instead of the standard 4 buckle system (or sometimes 3), this boot has two oversized buckles that get the same pulling power and fit, with less stuff to worry about. One buckle over the top of the foot- done, one buckle above the ankle- done... Time to start skiing. 35mm strap: Wider than average strap at the top of the boot to help keep the boot together and to give good performance while skiing. Tongue Pull: A loop of fabric at the top of the tongue helps in putting on and removing the boots. Pull it forward and to the side and your foot should slide right in.
Macro adjust ladder (SuperMacro): The tooth plate opposite the top buckles can be moved in or out for a huge range of adjustment, and to fit narrow to wide lower legs. Shockilla Insert: A 10mm foam insert sits under the heel, between the liner and the shell (without raising the heel) to give greater comfort while skiing over bumpy and icy terrain. It also cushions landings for the skiers that are jumping higher than they should be.
Atomic ASY Sport Liner: Atomic's ASY (Asymmetrical) Sport liner is a bit softer than the highest end Atomic liner, but this is essentially the second best one. These boots are ergonomically fitted, liner can be thermomolded to your foot, with specific adjustments in ankle and forefoot areas. Also its fuzzy and warm. You should be pretty damn comfy in these. Atomic ASY Comfort Liner: A lighterweight and softer version of Atomic's ASY Pro/Sport liners, the Asymmetrical Comfort liner is extremely plush and will conform to the skier's foot over time. This liner is sort of a middle ground between a rental/beginner liner and a more advanced performance liner. |
