Learning to snowboard is pretty difficult, in fact it is probably one of the most difficult sports to pick up and learn. You can make that learning curve as easy as possible on your kid with the Pivot Jr. ETR (Easy-To-Ride), which has a turn friendly shape and edges that won't catch as easily and send them tumbling. Level9 has classified this board as good for all levels of rider, because lightweight kid boarders of all ability levels will have a stable and enjoyable ride on the Pivot Jr.

Atomic Board Flex Rating: 2: Atomic's Flex Ratings go from 2 (soft) to 8 (stiff), so this board is on the lower end of stiffness. Softer boards require less muscle to turn, and will be smooth and stable at a lower range of speeds. Soft snowboards are also much easier to manhandle in the halfpipe and terrain park. At a rating of 2, this rider should be a beginner to intermediate, and also be a lightweight rider; such as juniors or petite women.

Atomic All Terrain Snowboards: Want to compare this board to some of the other All Terrain Boards from Atomic? Check out or Learn Center to see how it stacks up!

Target Rider: All Juniors!: Junior snowboards are more or less one-style-fits all, as most board companies will just make a single model of junior boards (or maybe a girl's one and a boy's one). These means that there aren't really any 'expert' kid's snowboards, though any board with a wood core will be more than advanced enough for the best little shredders.

Atomic's Pop Rocker ET (Easy Turn): Atomic Pop Rocker ET is the best rocker profile for the snowboarders who are just learning, as the rockered sections in the tip and tails make the board easier to turn (requires less power from the rider), and also make the tips and tails virtually immune to edge catching. For riders looking to gain confidence, this is definitely the rocker of choice from Atomic.

4400 Easy Care Extruded Base
This base type is highly durable, requires very little maintenance and will keep your board sliding nicely down the mountain. Since a lot of people ask, when we say "very little maintenance" that pretty much means get your ride tuned once preseason and you're good to go.

3 Degree (Easy to Ride) Bevel:
The 3 degree bevel minimizes edge catching and builds confidence via a shortened learning curve.

Truth 1 Wood Core Truth1 uses 100% Poplar for a consistent flex tip-to-tail, and long-term durability.

Radial Sidecut: This board has a perfectly radial sidecut (i.e. if the sidecut kept going eventually it would form one big circle) which gives the rider an expected and uniform feel on all types of turns.

Biaxal Sandwich Construction: While stiffer than a Cap construction snowboard, this Biax Sandwich board is torsionally soft to help the rider manhandle the board and gain confidence.
