Target Skier: Advanced to Expert: These boots are stiff enough and performance oriented enough, that we would recommend them to advanced skiers who will be aggressively skiing the whole mountain. Beginners should look elsewhere!  98mm last: Forefoot width of 98mm offers an expertly performing low-volume fit. Boots of this last width can run the gamut from very tight fitting to reasonably comfortable, but they will all fit much much tighter than a rental or intermediate boot.
110 Flex Rating: This boot is too stiff for beginners, and would be a very aggressive fit for intermediates. 110 flex is going to be a stiff and performance oriented shell that is recommend for advanced/expert skiers who need a very responsive boot. Live Fit Blow Out Zone: Sections of the boot on the outside of the boot made of hard rubber allow the foot to naturally expand during harsh landings, maximizing comfort and shock absorption. Atomic ASY Pro Liner: The densest and highest rebound of Atomic's liners, the asymmetrical liner has less padding on the inside of the foot, where you need a sense of feel, and more padding on the outside of the foot, where you need comfort. This liner has a plastic wrap around the upper for even more response, and it also helps the liner keeps its shape over the lifetime of the boot. Twin Micro Excenter canting: Maximum canting adjustment is achieved with the Twin canting system. Both the inside and outside of the ankle can be adjusted to correct for an uneven skiing platform caused by crooked legs. Height adjustable spoiler: A quick adjustment via velcro raises the rear top of the boot to give more support on the back of the leg, or when lowered, gives a little more room and comfort for the skier.  Recco reflector: The Recco reflector system is a location device built into the back of the boot. This allows ski patrol a much greater chance of finding you if you get stuck in the well of a tree or buried in an avalanche. Its not as good as wearing an avalanche beacon, but its the next best thing.
35mm strap: Wider than average strap at the top of the boot to help keep the boot together and to give good performance while skiing.  Tongue Pull: A loop of fabric at the top of the tongue helps in putting on and removing the boots. Pull it forward and to the side and your foot should slide right in.
Replaceable Toe and Heel Pads: This is a must-have for skiers that don't live in ski in/ski out condos. When your ski tech tells you that you have to buy new boots because the soles are worn down too much, just laugh at him and tell him to order you a new set of sole plates. Micro-Adjustable Carabiner Buckles: These buckles are extra strong and curved so you won't break them regardless of what kind of force you're putting on 'em. And the micro-adjustability means you get an easy lockdown every time. Skywalk Rubber Soles: The soles on the bottom of the boot are made of a hard rubber material, preventing wear and improving grip while walking in the parking lot or boot packing/hiking to your turns. Alpine Touring Ready: These boots are equipped with a Hike/Ski switch on the back of the boot. Whether you need to bootpack (hiking up with your skis over your shoulder) or using skins and touring bindings (the bindings are designed to lift up at the heel, while using skins on the bases of your skis to provide traction while going uphill) these boots will provide much more range of motion in your legs, resulting in less pain and faster ascents! |
