Ideal Target Skier: East Coast Hardpack Lover: This is an excellent ski for East Coast skiers that ski aggressively on the hardpack while still getting off trail a bit. West Coast skiers: this is a carving ski that should only be brought out when the powder is gone and its time to rip the groomers. Skier Ability: Advanced to Expert: Skipping the blue runs to get to the black runs, but sometimes a little cautious when it gets very steep, or some hesitation when your buddy says, ''You just have to clear those rocks or else you're toast.'' Speed: Racer: Always pushing the limit of top speed, these skiers get in trouble from Ski Patrol on occasion, and are always the fastest skiers on the mountain. U-Turn Carbon: This is an advanced system that helps eliminate disruptive vibrations from varied snow surfaces, with carbon as the main ingredient to keep the weight down. The 'U-Turn' name refers to the route of energy from a vibration coming into the ski and being converted to a different amplitude that cancels out incoming vibrations as it exits the ski. Umm, yeah. We don't get it either, but we do know that it gives the ski a smooth feel as it travels over bumpy or icy terrain. Energy Module: The Energy Module, much like a tennis racket, is the sweet spot of the ski. It stores the vibrations and transmits them in the opposite direction to give the ski a fluid feel from turn to turn. WC Racing Base: This base material is even harder than the UHMW graphite used in top end skis. It is race quality, will hold up to serious abuse, but does need a little extra care for the best performance. Because the pores of the base don't hold as much wax, it is a good idea to get this type of base waxed more frequently. Neox Interface: This plate allows the installation of the Atomic Neox bindings (included), and gives the skis the same characteristics as an integrated system. The ski flexes more underfoot, and has better edge grip through the turn. Binding Features: Din range: 4-12 Skier Weight Range: 100-400lbs. Boot Sole Length Mounting Range: 260mm to 370mm (almost any adult boot size) Textured Surface: Ideal for repelling wear and tear on the skis surface. Textured ski surfaces are rough surfaces to the ski that hide or repel scratches keep your skis look new long after they are not. Originally designed for rental skis for obvious reasons, this surface is now available on a wide variety of retail skis as well since everyone likes their skis to look nice. |
