Ideal Target Skier: Weekend Warrior/Charger: These skiers were once upon a time ski bums, or very proficient skiers in college, then landed an internship that led to a 70 hour work week and a spouse and 2.5 kids. They are still great skiers, and ski hard every chance they get on steeps, moguls, powder... whatever they can get their hands on. Adaptive rocker is a slight rise in the tip of the ski when the ski is weighted, for easy turning, no edge catching and better lift in soft snow.
Beta TFC: Short for Torsion Flex Control, and it means that the skis are lighter weight without sacrificing torsional stiffness. This is good because a skier has better control with a lighter weight ski, and doesn't loose out on edge grip on firm snow. Dura Edge: Treated solid steel edge holds up to abuse well. The hardness of the steel will keep its sharpness for a long time, and reduces the need to get your edges sharpened as often. Double Titanal Layering: This ski features two layers of Titanal metal alloy, one just above the base, one just below the topsheet. This gives the ski extra stiffness and strength while creating a dampening, or shock absorbing, effect to the ski. This is usually found in the highest grade of racing and competition level freeride skis. UHMW Electra Graphite: Ultra High Molecular Weight means the base material is very dense and very hard. This makes the base resistant to scratches from rocks and other things your bases might run into. Hard bases such as this glide very well (that means they're fast), but do require more frequent waxing than inferior cheaper bases for maximum performance. Step Down Sidewall Construction: This ski features Cap construction at the tip and tail for added durability and to reduce topsheet chipping, and has Sandwich construction underfoot for greater edge hold and power through the turns. Its the best of both worlds, a stiff rigid ski where it needs to be, and a soft and turnable ski where it doesn't.
Atomic Nomad highlights: The Nomad series of skis is Atomic's all mountain, do anything, go anywhere ski. A wide platform helps these skis float when the snow is soft, but the lightweight construction and Torsion Flex Control maintains edge grip when the snow turns to ice. The Nomad series offers several different skis to match the skier's ability, as long as the goal is to ski any type of terrain and snow type possible. The Nomads have a solid, stable feel to them, yet they are relatively light, making them easy to point in the direction that you want them to go.
