Dynastar 2010 6th Sense Distorter Skis

Sale: $379.00
Retail: $640.00

Save 40%
Stepping away from old school graphics, and entering a whole new world of attractiveness, the Distorter matches the performance of the Legend series, but with a modern twin tip style. It is more forgiving than the Legend series, but surprisingly still has superb edge grip on the firm stuff. If the budget allows only one ski to do everything from park to powder, the Distorter will get it done in style.

Ideal Target Skier: West Coast All Mountain Skier: Skiers on the west coast will enjoy this ski as an all mountain, do everything model, while skiers on the east coast will find this more suitable for powder skiing, or when there is chopped up crud to be had.

Skier Ability: Advanced to Expert: Skipping the blue runs to get to the black runs, but sometimes a little cautious when it gets very steep, or some hesitation when your buddy says, ''You just have to clear those rocks or else you're toast.''

Speed: Fast: At this speed, these skiers are passing most of the others on blue square runs, and keeping up with most skiers on black diamond runs.

Color: Black, red, orange, with some Rococo style emblems and designs

Sandwich Construction (SW): SW means that the sides of the skis are a vertical wall rather the rounded Cap construction found on most skis. Since none of the skis material needs to be exerting force maintaining shape at the edges, SW skis are stiffer than their Cap counterparts. Most people find SW skis to be damper, that is more glued to the snow, superior at high speed GS turns and top notch at busting through crud or choppy snow.

Spring blade technology: The core profile of this ski resembles that of a spring blade from a truck. The thickness of the ski has steps to give great edge hold underfoot, but is thin at the tip and tail to reduce swing weight for maximum maneuverability.

HMW base: High Molecular Weight base resists scratches, has low friction, but is found on skis just below the race and pro levels (more affordable skis).
