The Team Legend is the junior ski for the young skier who has figured out how to ski the groomers, and is beginning to explore the rest of the mountain. Although its not as aggressive a junior ski as the Team Trouble, this Team Legend is appropriate for a kid who is a pretty good skier and needs a true all-terrain ski. Kid Binding Recommendation: Skiers that weigh under 50 pounds (23kg) and/or use ski boots under size 23.0 Mondo should be using a low DIN binding (range almost always is .75-4.5) that works with children's boots, found with any 4 level binding. Common examples are SL 45, LR 4.5, or the Look Team 4 Ideal Target Skier: Young Ripper: Anywhere from pre-teen to the full 18 years, these skiers are pushing the limits of skiing in speed, style, tricks, and steez, and are often better skiers than their parents. Skier Ability: Intermediate to Advanced: Sometimes these skiers are intermediate, and on a good day, they are advanced, but hard to commit to one level. They can ski most places on the mountain, sometimes with a little difficulty, but always making it down without crying and calling ski patrol. Speed: Moderate: The speed most intermediate skiers travel at, Moderate means they like to ski faster than beginners, but are never the fastest skiers on a run. Color: Orange, Wood grain, and Black - a great looking stylish ski. Features: Composite core Isospeed base. These Junior skis are a blended quality. A little more durable than a standard Junior ski (such as the XRC) and a little less aggressive than some of the powerful do anything Junior skis (like the Troubled Youth/Sweet trouble.) A beginner can learn on these and an expert can have fun on them but the best use lies somewhere in between. These skis will find a good home with the more advanced junior skier that doesn't quite ski the entire mountain but does a little more than ski school. As always for juniors, make sure you add a lightweight binding. Adult skis and bindings are a serious no-no's for kids. This ski should be sized chin to nose height for intermediates or slightly longer to get a few years out of them. If your youngster is particularly heavy you can go up 5cm or so but no more. And most importantly, never ever buy a ski too long for your youngster, it is much better to have her on a ski too short next year than too long this year |
