Elan 2012 e/Flex 6 Early Rise Carving Skis w/Bindings

Elan's e/Flex 6 (the e stands for Early Rise) is an extremely stable and smooth turning carving ski for low intermediate to advanced skiers. These skis feature a Cap style construction, which is a bit lighter and more flexible than sidewall/sandwich skis but still offers good torsional rigidity for high-speed/hardpack skiing. The Elan e/Flex 6 also has early rise tips, which makes the contact point for turn initiation closer to your boot and center of mass (imagine trying to turn a ski that is 40 feet long, you couldn't do it), which makes it not only easier to initiate turns but also will help you to begin carving your turns instead of simply smearing your turns from side to side. For these reasons, we really like these skis for intermediate skiers with ambition to become faster and better skiers and start carving turns on their edges instead of their bases.

Free L9 Poles: A little love from L9 to you in the form of a free composite Levelninesports.com ski pole. A comparable pole retails for $60 and we sell these for $24 normally. This free pole is for a few select skis as a little sweetener on the already lowest price.

Elan E10 Binding features:
DIN: 3-10- This will be suitable for intermediates of all shapes and sizes
9mm Carve Plate- These bindings are perched upon a 9mm carve plate, which is great for adding leverage to your turns on hardpack/ice (which is what these skis were made for!). In addition, the plate is drilled to the ski, but the bindings are simply attached to the plate. So for changing boot sizes between skiers (or just new boots), would NOT require new holes to be drilled, yay!

Ideal Target Skier: Progressing Intermediate: This skier is pushing the limits of the intermediate badge, and getting off trail and figuring out how to get comfortable at higher speeds through variable terrain.

Fiber Jacket: A solid topsheet that provides a good blend of stability and performance without extra weight.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

P-Tex 2000: The base material for this ski is hard and resistant to scratches and dings from rocks or anything else hiding under the snow. A hard base also translates to a fast glide, so get ready to hold on!

Textured Surface: Ideal for repelling wear and tear on the skis surface. Textured ski surfaces are rough surfaces to the ski that hide or repel scratches keep your skis look new long after they are not. Originally designed for rental skis for obvious reasons, this surface is now available on a wide variety of retail skis as well since everyone likes their skis to look nice.

Early Rise: Somewhere between rocker and traditional sits the Early Rise. This helps the tip of the ski get up in softer snow, and still maintains good edge grip and firm snow performance.

Active Camber: In a world of early rise, rocker, and reverse camber, there still is a need for traditional full camber skis. The edge grip and stability is unmatched on groomed snow. This ski gets maximum edge to the snow, so it helps skiers skiing the firm stuff, or just prefer the 'feel' of traditional camber skis.

Integrated 9MM Carve Plate: Integrated into the ski is a 9mm high carve plate that lifts the binding up off the ski. This lift makes it easier to get the ski on edge and let the turn happen naturally.
