Giro Sestriere Ski Snowboard Helmet

This race inspired helmet is a great way to give riders maximum protection while still looking pretty stylish. The hard shell comes over the ears to protect the side of the head better than the half shell style, and also gives the option to add a chin guard for racing. The Giro Sestriere is a simple, no frills helmet (that doesn't have any vents on top), but does offer very good protection for a wide range of skiers and snowboarders. A lot of beginners like this helmet because there is no fussing with plugs and levers and do-dads, but racers equally like this helmet because it has the ear protection that seems to be slowly disappearing because of style concerns.

We've been told by a handful of customers that these Giro Sestriere helmets fit snugger than expected. If you measure your head and you're on the borderline, we recommend sizing up.

In-Mold Technology: A lightweight shell surrounds the injected foam, and makes the helmet much lighter than hard shell counterparts.

Hard ear flaps: Hard ear flaps protect the ears and side of head better than soft ear flap helmets. The comfort level isn't quite the same as a soft flap, and its slightly more difficult to hear, but if you hit a tree or a racing gate with your ear, you'll be grateful that this has hard ear flaps.

Safety Standards: CE EN 1077: This is a European standard that has performed testing on these helmets to ensure they function as designed, and that they exceed the minimum standards for snow sports. In other words, they dropped heavy objects on the helmets, and they didn't break.
ASTM 2040: The US equivalent of the European testing standard, so you know it has solid backing.

Padded Chin Strap: Thin padding under the chin prevents chafing and allows for proper fit of the helmet.

Flexible goggle strap: A rubberized material used for the goggle strap at the rear of the helmet can stretch over goggle clips, and will prevent the goggles from slipping off the back of the helmet.
