Head Cool One LiteRail Skis w/bindings

This ski is all about fluidity on the slopes. The Liquidmetal technology paired with the Intelligence system smoothes out the ride, even when the slopes are icy and rough. The Head Cool One will smooth it out as if it were a race ski, but doesn't weigh 25 pounds. This ski is still relatively easy to turn at slower speeds, but it really shines when the skier starts to get aggressive and going faster on the groomed slopes. This really is a great ski for sticking to the slopes at the intermediate to advanced level, and is just wide enough to get some good stability for off trail skiing.

This ski comes with the Head LiteRail 10 bindings, which slide right onto the pre-installed plate.
Release Value Range: 3-10
Skier Weight Range: > 67 lbs.
Binding Color: Black with white trim

Ideal Target Skier: Casual Cruiser: Sticking mainly to the groomed runs and always keeping speed in check, a Casual Cruiser doesn't even bother with the off trail snow, moguls, jumps, etc.

Skier Ability: Intermediate to Advanced: Sometimes these skiers are intermediate, and on a good day, they are advanced, but hard to commit to one level. They can ski most places on the mountain, sometimes with a little difficulty, but always making it down without crying and calling ski patrol.

Speed: Fast: At this speed, these skiers are passing most of the others on blue square runs, and keeping up with most skiers on black diamond runs.

LiteRail Integrated Binding System: This ski comes with a pre-installed LiteRail plate, which is Head/Tyrolia's SuperLight and highly adjustable binding system. It works in a similar way to the popular Railflex system, but without the increased stand height, and extra weight. This is generally found on ladies and junior skis.

Carbon Jacket: A superb combination of durability and performance in a ski topsheet available. A carbon jacket will still allow top speeds but also not weigh your ski down.

Synthetic Core: A lightweight flexible ski core designed to help skiers master turning and stay out of harms way by making the ski nimble. Synthetic cores are great for those learning to master the art of skiing because they turn easily, but top speed skiers may prefer stiffer skis.

Cap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.

Die Cut Graphic: The base has a die cut graphic, which is made up of at least two different colors of base material, cut to different shapes to create a design or graphic. This base is popular because the graphics don't fade over time and just looks cool, even though there is no performance benefit to a die cut base.

Integrated Railflex Lite 9 Binding Included: Railflex Lite bindings are the optimal choice for most any skier looking to complete an easy to ski package. LiteRail bindings adjust to a maximum of 325mm which is about a Mens US 10, so if you have a bigger boot you cannot use this ski.

Railflex Lite are full flex bindings which aid your carving and adjust to a variety of boot sizes (220-325mm).

Head's Intelligence technology: is essentially an array of fibers inside of the ski or snowboard that absorb the mechanical energy that your muscles are putting into the ski, and convert them to electrical energy. The more energy the fibers absorb, the stiffer the ski becomes. So the faster you go the more stable this ski is. We were the first one to say that this was just some gimmick jargon, but the stuff actually works.

Liquidmetal: is another physics experiment by Head, and this one is more complicated. The idea behind all of this is that the solid molecules can be compressed when force is applied to them, whereas liquid molecules do not get compressed but instead simply reposition themselves. This means two things important to a ski: There is no loss of energy resulting in maximum energy rebound. Whatever you put into a turn, you get out of a turn on the other side. The second thing is that since these liquid molecules aren't being constantly compressed (remember they just reposition themselves), there is no breakdown over time, meaning the Liquidmetal will provide maximum rebound for the life of the ski.
