80/90 Flex Rating: This boot has a flex rating in the intermediate to advanced range, and can be adjusted between the two settings. 104mm last: Comfort is key for skiers matching up to this last width. It is roomy and comfortable, making it the preferred choice for recreational skiers that demand comfort above all else. This is the boot type that most recreational skiers prefer. SuperHeat 3 liner: High performance liner that molds to your foot, activated by body heat. The SuperHeat 3 has the adaptive lining in the ankle, heel, tongue, and insole and will speed up the break in process of your boots. Soft Walk Heel: A rubber insert in the heel cushions while walking to get better grip and a more comfortable stride.
Micro-adjustable alloy buckles: These alloy buckles can be twisted to adjust for size, so if the default position of the buckle and the teeth is too wide or too narrow, you can twist the buckle like a screw until it fits just right. Macro adjust ladder (SuperMacro): The tooth plate opposite the top buckles can be moved in or out for a huge range of adjustment, and to fit narrow to wide lower legs.
Double Power Buckles: Some of the buckles on this boot (usually the top 2) have a metal flip-out that can be extended to give the skier more leverage when clamping it down.
Adjustable rear spoiler: With a quick adjustment, the height at the top rear of the boot can be raised or lowered. If you are taller than average for your boot size, or if you just want the extra support at the back of the leg, you can adjust the spoiler up about 1cm from standard. This will also pitch you forward slightly into a more aggressive stance. Double Canting: Two adjustment bolts, one each side of the ankle, allow for maximum adjustment for leg/knee alignment problems. The canting helps the skis stay flat on the ground while you are still bow-legged or knock-kneed. Adjustable flex: The flex setting of this boot can be toggled between two settings: the higher is stiffer and better performance, while the lower setting is softer and more comfortable. Replaceable Toe and Heel Pads: This is a must-have for skiers that don't live in ski in/ski out condos. When your ski tech tells you that you have to buy new boots because the soles are worn down too much, just laugh at him and tell him to order you a new set of sole plates. Head's Edge series boots could be the most popular recreational boot ever made. They are certainly the most universally popular boots we sell. Edge boots are marked by a traditional 4 buckle system and a generous 104mm wide inner boot. This width accommodates all but the widest feet (you guys should head over to our I-Type boots or Roxa Cruise.) They provide a good balance of performance and comfort with a definite lean toward comfort. As the model number increases, the number of features and stiffness of the boot also increases. All skill levels (except perhaps extreme skiers and racers) will find an edge boot that fits their level, if this boot isn't it, just check out another. |
