Ideal Target Skier: Casual Cruiser: Sticking mainly to the groomed runs and always keeping speed in check, a Casual Cruiser doesn't even bother with the off trail snow, moguls, jumps, etc. Skier Ability: Lower Intermediate to Upper Intermediate: Skiing all sorts of blue runs, starting to get off trail and into advanced (black diamond) territory, but at controlled speeds. Speed: Moderate: The speed most intermediate skiers travel at, Moderate means they like to ski faster than beginners, but are never the fastest skiers on a run. Fiber Jacket: A solid topsheet that provides a good blend of stability and performance without extra weight.
Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.
X-Frame Core: Head's tried and true core technology the crosses the fibers for added strength and stability with minimal weight. Head's top of the line skis have moved on to other core technologies, but X-Frame is rock solid and is why Head's intermediate skis have speed stability more like advanced skis of other brands. We have yet to find one Head ski that does not provide enough stability for even lower advanced skiers and the X-Frame core is the main reason. Intelligence Technology: Allows for a transfer of energy throughout the ski to provide stabilization at higher speeds. When the ski begins to shake in front of the binding electricity is transmitted forward through the ski to stiffen it up, thus anticipating the vibration (chatter) and reducing it.
Textured Surface: Ideal for repelling wear and tear on the skis surface. Textured ski surfaces are rough surfaces to the ski that hide or repel scratches keep your skis look new long after they are not. Originally designed for rental skis for obvious reasons, this surface is now available on a wide variety of retail skis as well since everyone likes their skis to look nice.
Integrated Railflex Plate: Railflex bindings are the optimal choice for most any skier. This ski comes with a Railflex plate integrated into the ski at the factory so you don't have a choice. If you have a tested Railflex binding from any of the past 5 years you can simply slide it on to the plate, otherwise you are best off choosing one from the drop-down list above. You know that you won't find a better price. Please note that you cannot use a Railflex Lite binding on this ski. UHM Base: A maintenance free durable base. You may want to wax it up for springtime slush, other than that you can concentrate on other things. |
