Head Jon Olson Pro Twin Tip Park Ski

Sale: $0.00
Retail: $780.00

Very racy graphics of Jon Olson's girlfriend at the time cover the entire topsheet of this ski, so this is one that the parents need to approve before purchasing. As for the performance of the ski, the Head JO Pro is a top level park ski with abilities that carry over to all mountain purposes. This model is extremely light weight, giving the rider tons of maneuverability to nail the next trick, or to just last a full day of skiing with minimal fatigue. The weight difference between this ski and other park/all mountain skis is definitely noticeable, and can improve one's ability immediately.

Ideal Target Skier: All Mountain Park Rider: Skiers that go anywhere on the mountain, and still make trips through the terrain park enough to require twin tips, describe these skiers. They are not afraid to skip park sessions to ski deep powder, but are torn sometimes for their love of hitting rails and jumps in the park.

Skier Ability: Upper Intermediate to Advanced: Skiing most black diamond runs, but cautiously or at moderate speeds.

Speed: Fast: At this speed, these skiers are passing most of the others on blue square runs, and keeping up with most skiers on black diamond runs.

Synthetic Core: A lightweight flexible ski core designed to help skiers master turning and stay out of harms way by making the ski nimble. Synthetic cores are great for those learning to master the art of skiing because they turn easily, but top speed skiers may prefer stiffer skis.

Cap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.

Die Cut Graphic: The base has a die cut graphic, which is made up of at least two different colors of base material, cut to different shapes to create a design or graphic. This base is popular because the graphics don't fade over time and just looks cool, even though there is no performance benefit to a die cut base.

Aircoat Technology:
"While everybody is trying to make the core of their skis lighter, we decided to put air in the surrounding fiberglass. AIRCOAT means our fibers are hollow, not only making our 08.09 freeride and multi condition skis super light, but extremely agile and strong at the same time. This technology, also used in the aerospace industry, is the main reason, why AIRCOAT equipped skis will most probably be the lightest skis on the market next year.

40% LIGHTER - Regular glass fibers are solid, whereas AIRCOAT fibers are hollow. This reduces the overall weight of the fiberglass in a ski up to 40%. And since there is a lot of glass in a ski, this makes a big difference.

SAME STRENGTH - The hollow fiber has both a higher compression strength and a higher specific strength than any solid fiber. This makes hollow fibers at least as strong as conventional, full fibers.

MORE AGILITY - The combination of lighter weight and increased strength in Hollow Glass fibers results in more resilience and agility of the ski. Hollow glass fibers are more responsive and faster in both absorbing and transmitting energy to and from the edge of your skis." - HEAD
