Kid Binding Recommendation: Skiers that weigh under 50 pounds (23kg) and/or use ski boots under size 23.0 Mondo should be using a low DIN binding (range almost always is .75-4.5) that works with children's boots, found with any 4 level binding. Common examples are SL 45, LR 4.5, or the Look Team 4 Ideal Target Skier: Developing Young Skier: Anywhere from first timers to advanced youth skiers, that still have a lot to learn about skiing. They might ski fast sometimes, and have a blast, but aren't comfortable with some areas of the mountain. Skier Ability: Beginner to Advanced Juniors: Versatile for basically all levels of junior skiers, from first timers on bunny slopes to seasoned advanced level skiers hanging out with mom and dad in the back bowls. Speed: Controlled: Usually a moderate speed because of a lot of back and forth on the hill, or sticking to the lower pitch runs. Skis designed for slower skiing can still be skied more aggressively by lighter skiers (especially juniors). Synthetic Core: A lightweight flexible ski core designed to help skiers master turning and stay out of harms way by making the ski nimble. Synthetic cores are great for those learning to master the art of skiing because they turn easily, but top speed skiers may prefer stiffer skis. Cap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other. |
