Head RD 96 SH3 Ski Boots

Sale: $39.00
Retail: $899.00

Save 95%
THIS BOOT IS FOR EXPERTS ONLY AND MAY NOT BE RETURNED! Head's RD 96 is a 150 flex boot, with a 96mm instep and double thick plastic so you (or your ski team's boot fitter) can get the custom fit that you desire. These boots offer some of the highest performance that money can buy, but they will fit like a race boot, so be warned, if you're an intermediate skier looking for a good deal, this is a terrible choice. If you're an expert skier looking for a truly incredible deal, well then this would be a premium choice.
Appropriate ability levels. The L9 Listers say: Indestructible Rich (L9 Owner) says: Race Worthy The L9 team says: Race Worthy

$9 Special: It may be $9 or $19 or $199, in any case these items are the last one or two in our inventory and we just want them out as they are taking up space. These products won't last long so be sure to be quick on the trigger. As these items will sell out quickly, they are available for internet purchase only (we won't be able to show them to you at our retail store.)

Ideal Target Skier: Legit Competitor: If you have a competition coming up this weekend (sorry, ski club rail jams don't count), and you seriously need the gear that pros are using, then we'll let you buy these. Otherwise, you'll have some explaining to do.

150 Flex Rating: This boot is extremely stiff and is suited for competition level skiers that need precision control at ridiculous speeds on solid ice. Other skiers can also use this boot, but most of the time, they are ex-racers, and know what they are doing.

RD last: The forefoot width on this racing boot last is 96mm. With the help of Bode Miller, this shell has optimum foot retention with a wrap that is designed around the shape of the foot. This is not a recreation style fit. This is full on racing and super high performance levels only!

SuperHeat 3 liner: High performance liner that molds to your foot, activated by body heat. The SuperHeat 3 has the adaptive lining in the ankle, heel, tongue, and insole and will speed up the break in process of your boots.

Micro-adjustable aluminum Racing Department buckles: These aluminum buckles can be moved to adjust for size, so if the default position of the buckle and the teeth is too wide or too narrow, you can move it until it fits. And they sport the red and white racing buckles just like the Head World Cup team.

High rebound PU Shell: Stiff plastic used for the shells of high performance and race boots. Helps drive the energy from the skier direct to the skis to maintain snow contact. The elasticity/rebound of the shell absorbs some of the energy from bumps, and drives the skis back down on the snow.

FIS Approved: This boot conforms to the boot sole thickness regulations set forth by FIS. This means that when you are good enough to compete and win, they won't tell you its just because of your boots.

Racing Flex Adjustment: The flex setting of this boot can be adjusted very precisely to any stiffness within its range. High performance skiers can dial in the exact stiffness that they desire.

Double Canting: Two adjustment bolts, one each side of the ankle, allow for maximum adjustment for leg/knee alignment problems. The canting helps the skis stay flat on the ground while you are still bow-legged or knock-kneed.

RD/RS liner shell combo: Head's RD and RS boots are serious performance boots, but the fit is more comfortable than the forefoot width would indicate. The liner is compressed so that it will not be as bulky and pack out less than a lower end boot.
