Modeled after the original Big Easy, this ski has a short turn radius to help beginners and intermediates develop their skiing skills quickly, or to just casually cruise the slopes, not caring about a single thing in the world. But in case there is a desire to improve, this ski can help out in a big way. The Shape 02 is pretty bare-bones in terms of features, but it can handle a range of snow conditions well.

Ideal Target Skier: Casual Cruiser: Sticking mainly to the groomed runs and always keeping speed in check, a Casual Cruiser doesn't even bother with the off trail snow, moguls, jumps, etc.

Skier Ability: Lower Intermediate to Upper Intermediate: Skiing all sorts of blue runs, starting to get off trail and into advanced (black diamond) territory, but at controlled speeds.

Speed: Moderate: The speed most intermediate skiers travel at, Moderate means they like to ski faster than beginners, but are never the fastest skiers on a run.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Fiber Jacket: A solid topsheet that provides a good blend of stability and performance without extra weight.

X-Frame Core: Head's tried and true core technology the crosses the fibers for added strength and stability with minimal weight. Head's top of the line skis have moved on to other core technologies, but X-Frame is rock solid and is why Head's intermediate skis have speed stability more like advanced skis of other brands. We have yet to find one Head ski that does not provide enough stability for even lower advanced skiers and the X-Frame core is the main reason.

Cap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.

Textured Surface: Ideal for repelling wear and tear on the skis surface. Textured ski surfaces are rough surfaces to the ski that hide or repel scratches keep your skis look new long after they are not. Originally designed for rental skis for obvious reasons, this surface is now available on a wide variety of retail skis as well since everyone likes their skis to look nice.
