Head Junior Ski features: Target Skier: Head's junior skis are well constructed shaped skis for all levels of Junior skiers. In the bigger sizes junior skis can be used by teens and adults as long as the skier weight is under 140lbs and they are not too aggressive. These are standard junior ski which means if your young one is on a race team, getting serious air in the half-pipe, or routinely skiing deep powder, then these are not the skis you want. Terrain: Any terrain is fine Skiing Style: Whether a beginner or with and advanced skier with good technique, most children are best off with a light easy turning ski like this one. Speed: Any speed, but as these are soft easy to turn junior skis true racers (even light ones) may need a ski with more stability. X-Frame Core: Head's tried and true core technology the crosses the fibers for added strength and stability with minimal weight. Head's top of the line skis have moved on to other core technologies, but X-Frame is rock solid and is why Head's intermediate skis have speed stability more like advanced skis of other brands. We have yet to find one Head ski that does not provide enough stability for even lower advanced skiers and the X-Frame core is the main reason. Textured Surface: Ideal for repelling wear and tear on the skis surface. Textured ski surfaces (aka snakeskin topsheet) are rough surfaces to the ski that hide or repel scratches keep your skis look new long after they are not. Originally designed for rental skis for obvious reasons, this surface is now available on a wide variety of retail skis as well since everyone likes their skis to look nice. |
