Booster straps don't exist in snowboarding? until now! This Lamar Matrix took a huge leap from previous models that were stuck at the beginner to low intermediate levels. Now, this model is for solid intermediates, and even some advanced riders. The strap at the top of the boot can be swung around the front of the boot to get a nice tight fit, or can be left behind as a style element.
Appropriate ability levels. The L9 Listers say: Park Rat Rich (L9 Owner) says: Classic/Timeless The L9 team says: Gold Star

Flex Rating: 7 out of 10

Flex Rating: The flex rating of a boot refers to how stiff the boot is, the higher the relative rating the stiffer the boot. Some boots will list 4 of 5, others may list 8 of 10; two such boots should have similar flex. In general more beginner rider wants a lower flex and more advanced rider a higher flex, but this is not always the case as some beginner riders like more support and some advanced riders like more give.

6/10 Flex Rating: This flex rating means beginners and lower intermediates will find these boots great for learning. As speeds increase, lace them up tighter to increase the stiffness a little bit, until its time to upgrade to a stiffer model.

Removable Liner: This boot comes with a removable liner. Removable liners have the advantage of being easier to dry than non removable liners, and the disadvantage of usually being a little larger than a non removable linered boot of the same size.

Backstay: The back of this boot is reinforced for strength and stiffness. It gives you the support you need for any ability level.

JS Liner: This liner is molded to get a quicker break in period. The lace tabs are reinforced with long bars stitched into the liner to eliminate pull outs.

Liner Lace Lock: This liner features a lace lock to speed up the process of putting boots on. Just pull the lace tab upward until snug, then slide the lace lock down into place. It will ensure the boots stay snug throughout the day. When the day is over, just pull up on the lock knob and slide the foot out. Piece of cake!

Low Profile Outsole: This boot allows the foot to sit closer to the binding and board for better feel and control of the board. There is still some shock absorption in there, so its still comfortable.

PVC/EVA shell/tongue materials: Scientific blend (PVC and EVA are both abbreviations of longer chemical names) offers more durability and comfort than other, uh, less scientific materials.

PVC Upper: The upper of this boot is a flexible PVC plastic, that feels about like a stiff leather. This material is highly waterproof and resists abuse well.
