Flex Rating: 8 out of 10
Flex Rating: The flex rating of a boot refers to how stiff the boot is, the higher the relative rating the stiffer the boot. Some boots will list 4 of 5, others may list 8 of 10; two such boots should have similar flex. In general more beginner rider wants a lower flex and more advanced rider a higher flex, but this is not always the case as some beginner riders like more support and some advanced riders like more give. Permanent Liner: This boot comes with a NON removable liner. Non removable liners have the advantage of being smaller for the same size and the disadvantage of not being quite as easy to dry as removable liners.
Boa Lacing Technology:The awesome new setup that removes the only thing that sucks about snowboard boots: the laces. The Boa system is laced cables of aircraft grade steel (no it doesn't add weight) that take the place of laces in keeping your boots tight. To tighten you simply push in the Boa housing button (to lock it in place), righty tighty turn the dial until you get the snug fit you desire. To remove the boot, you just pop (pull) the housing button and stretch out the tongue.
Backstay: The back of this boot is reinforced for strength and stiffness. It gives you the support you need for any ability level. Comfort Forming Internal Liner: Internal lining of this boot is very comfortable and conforms to your foot over time. EVA Footbed: A standard foam footbed that molds to the shape of the foot with pressure and normal use. Integrated Heel Counter: A fancy name for a piece of plastic in the heel that gives extra support. PVC/EVA shell/tongue materials: Scientific blend (PVC and EVA are both abbreviations of longer chemical names) offers more durability and comfort than other, uh, less scientific materials. PVC Upper: The upper of this boot is a flexible PVC plastic, that feels about like a stiff leather. This material is highly waterproof and resists abuse well. Molded Sole: The sole is a molded rubber pattern to give excellent shock absorption while riding and better traction when walking to and from the lifts. |
