Ninthward Rory Silva Twin Tip Powder Skis

Sale: $149.00
Retail: $699.00

Save 78%
The super wide platform of the Rory Silva is all about staying afloat in the deepest powder days without breaking a sweat. However, this ski can still handle other conditions, thanks to the twin tip to make it ski a little shorter, sidewall construction to provide edge grip, and standard camber to give liveliness in the turns. As a backcountry booter ski, it is extremely versatile and can be used at just about any resort that gets soft snow. It's also worth mentioning that unlike most skis, the dimensions of the Rory Silva change between the different lengths, so as to maintain the same turn radius. This means that the 183cm is a full 10mm wider than the 173cm length. We're not passing judgment on this one, just letting you know in case it influences your decision!

$9 Special: It may be $9 or $19 or $199, in any case these items are the last one or two in our inventory and we just want them out as they are taking up space. These products won't last long so be sure to be quick on the trigger. As these items will sell out quickly, they are available for internet purchase only (we won't be able to show them to you at our retail store.)

Skier Ability: Upper Intermediate to Advanced: Skiing most black diamond runs, but cautiously or at moderate speeds.

Expert Binding Choices: Some of the binding options (i.e. the Look/Coreupt PX 15) available for this ski have high din ranges that start at 8 or 9. A very small percentage of skiers will be suitable for these bindings. If you know that you usually set your din at 8 or above, you are in the clear for a high din binding. Otherwise, those bindings are for EXPERT SKIERS ONLY!

Ideal Target Skier: Weekend Warrior/Charger: These skiers were once upon a time ski bums, or very proficient skiers in college, then landed an internship that led to a 70 hour work week and a spouse and 2.5 kids. They are still great skiers, and ski hard every chance they get on steeps, moguls, powder... whatever they can get their hands on.

Speed: Fast: At this speed, these skiers are passing most of the others on blue square runs, and keeping up with most skiers on black diamond runs.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

PA 12 Topsheet: This topsheet is durable and sports silk-screened graphics. The colors won't bleed over time, so the graphics will look fresh even years down the road.

Sintered Base: The material used for the base is harder, and therefore more durable than other options (Extruded). This material should be waxed regularly for best performance.

45-90 Degree Sidewall: The sidewall is custom routed to a 45 and 90 degree angle to provide strength for impacts, solid edging power, and helps reduce chipping at the topsheet.

8.5mm ABS Sidewall: Super thick sidewall material to give greater strength for slamming against rails or rocks.

45 HRC Steel Edges: These edges are hard without being brittle to give increased strength to the edge when landing on rails and rocks.

Twin tip skis: are where its at these days. Their versatility allows you to ski powder in the morning, bumps at midday, and session the park in the afternoon. The turned up tail is also optimal for skiing backwards (switch), but for most people, it just looks cool.

These are versatile skis that can be used for a variety of terrain. If you are buying a binding from us and we are mounting them, you have the option to choose for which riding style you would like us to mount them.
The default is Freeride mount which is recommended for using these sticks for All Mountain skiing. Park mount is for terrain park skiing and will be forward of the all mountain mount. You can also choose for us to not mount the bindings.
