These boots are compatible with NNN BC bindings. The treads on these soles are also very rugged and grippy for when you're walking through the parking lot or hiking around in the snow. External 3D Reinforcement is basically a fancy way to say that these boots have firm heel backing made of plastic. This reinforced heel gives the boots added durability of course, but also (and probably more importantly) will be more responsive when you're kicking, skating or downhilling than less reinforced boots. While not quite steel toed boots, these boots do have thick, sturdy plastic toe, which is an extension of the stiff plastic sole. Lacing System: Standard polyester laces, but with the top eyelet being a hard plastic hook that lets you cinch the boots down tight and won't let go of the laces as you're moving all day. Polyester Lining: Polyester is the perfect lining for cross country boots as it resists water, wicks away sweat, provides a fair amount of insulation, all while being soft to the touch. Pretty much every ski sock on the planet is a polyester blend of some sort, for the same reasons that the lining of this boot is made of polyester. Cotton and wool are on 2 sides of the spectrum that polyester splits right down the middle. What a great and magical fabric. |
