Rossignol 2012 Experience 76 Skis w/Axium 110 Bindings

Sale: $390.00
Retail: $600.00

The 76mm underfoot Experience 76 features the same wood core and cap construction as the narrower 74, but is slightly fatter, has upgraded bindings and has an Aramide laminate, as opposed to carbon. This ski is therefore a bit stiffer, and with a bit more surface area, is more appropriate for a skier who is venturing off the beaten path more and more often. It is important to note that the Experience 76 is much different from the Experience 83, which is a sandwich construction ski and is much heavier and stiffer (ditto on the 88 and 98), so if you want to go a bit wider than the Experience 74 but don't want to take the full on plunge to an expert's only ski, Rossignol's Experience 76 is the one to go for!

Axium 110 Features:
DIN: 3.5-11
Teflon AFD
Full Diagonal Toe
Boot Adjustment Range: 260-385mm

Cascade Tip: This tip is defined as "[using] varying shapes of metal and fiberglass laminates at staggered lengths to provide a lighter extremity. The unique layered shapes control tip torsion which smoothes out turn initiation and improves full edge contact. The lighter weight tip improves the swing weight of the ski for quick and adaptable turn initiation." We could not possibly have described it any better than that.

Auto Turn Camber: Rossignol's Auto Turn rocker profile is 70% flat camber, and 30% early rise, which means that these skis are going to hold an edge strong, and should be skied mostly on hardpack--but with the raised tips, plowing through crud and powder is definitely do-able.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Carbon Jacket: A superb combination of durability and performance in a ski topsheet available. A carbon jacket will still allow top speeds but also not weigh your ski down.

Cap ConstructionCap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.

Aramide Laminate: In order to make the core stiffer and poppier, without adding weight with metal layers or denser wood, these skis have been given an aramide laminate.

Tip Rocker: This refers to the early rising of the tip to get the ski on top of the soft snow, rather than pushing through it. When the skis are held with the bases together, it will look like the tips are bent, and spread away from eachother. Tip rocker also helps skiers pivot the skis, making tight trees remarkably easy, and gives the ski a surf-like feel.

Tail Rocker: Just like Tip rocker, but in the tail, this feature allows the tails of the skis to release easier from the turn to give the skier the ability to turn the skis quicker in tight spots. It also allows skiers to dump speed by forcing the tails out and sliding sideways. The effective edge is reduced because of the tail rocker, so the skis will also be easier to control when forced to ski on the groomed slopes.

Metal Tip Protectors: These skis have rugged tip protectors made of metal that will help fight against chipping and damage to the tips, which is both a performance and cosmetic benefit.
