Rossignol 2012 Scimitar Twin Tip Powder Skis

A scimitar is a sword with a curved blade, very apt, considering the Rossignol Scimitars are 100% full rocker shape, they are, in a matter of speaking, a curved blade. Only instead of slicing through rebel flesh, you'll be slashing powder turns and spinning and jibbing through the park. These skis are 96mm underfoot (and full rocker), so they are great GREAT powder skis. But the full rocker also makes buttering and sliding/spinning off rails and boxes that much easier. Rossignol's Jib Tip and lightweight wood core provide a damp yet stable landing platform. We recommend these skis for skiers who ski pow, park, backcountry, and want poppy and playful skis.

Discounted Ski Bindings: Lowest price and now discounteds bindings for these skis. Click the dropdown above but we have some awesome older binding models for 2012 skis only for a limited time. We aren't kidding.. check the first few binding options and don't dawdle supplies are limited.

Free L9 Poles: A little love from L9 to you in the form of a free composite Levelninesports.com ski pole. A comparable pole retails for $60 and we sell these for $24 normally. This free pole is for a few select skis as a little sweetener on the already lowest price.

Ideal Target Skier: Powder Hound: If you use your sick days only when it snows 12'' or more overnight and not when you're actually sick, this ski is probably for you. Powder Hounds are on the search for deep and untouched powder, and fat skis to ski it with.

Sandwich ConstructionSandwich Construction (SW): SW means that the sides of the skis are a vertical wall rather the rounded Cap construction found on most skis. Since none of the skis material needs to be exerting force maintaining shape at the edges, SW skis are stiffer than their Cap counterparts. Most people find SW skis to be damper, that is more glued to the snow, superior at high speed GS turns and top notch at busting through crud or choppy snow.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

WRS Complex Core: WRS stands for 'Weight Reduction System' and basically it means that, while the core material is wood, there are some scientific fiberglass fibers concentrated under the boot area for improved stiffness in that area without making the skis heavier.

Twin tip skis: are where its at these days. Their versatility allows you to ski powder in the morning, bumps at midday, and session the park in the afternoon. The turned up tail is also optimal for skiing backwards (switch), but for most people, it just looks cool.

Spin Turn Rocker: Spin Turn is Rossignol's 100% rocker shape, with no camber underfoot. Full rocker gives the ski a playful feel, easy to spin, butter, and pop off jumps, as well as float in real deep snow. These skis should be used off-trail as much as humanly possible.

Extended Sidecut: A sidecut technology that Rossignol uses for its mostly groomer skis. When the ski is going fast and you're leaning further into your turn, more of the edge comes in contact with the snow the more extreme your angle is. This gives increased edge hold at higher speeds, while leaving the ski maneuverable at slow speeds. Pretty cool.

Jibtip Technology: Rossignol's JibTip skis have tips with a rounder shape designed for pipe transitions and skiing switch.
