Ideal Target Skier: East Coast Hardpack Lover: This is an excellent ski for East Coast skiers that ski aggressively on the hardpack while still getting off trail a bit. West Coast skiers: this is a carving ski that should only be brought out when the powder is gone and its time to rip the groomers. Salomon Z12 Bindings Included: DIN: 4-12
Skier Weight Range: >108lbs
Boot Adjustment Range: 260mm-380mm
Pretty much anyone fits into this range. Little kids and pro shredders probably not, everyone else, yessir! Double Titanal Layering: This ski features two layers of Titanal metal alloy, one just above the base, one just below the topsheet. This gives the ski extra stiffness and strength while creating a dampening, or shock absorbing, effect to the ski. This is usually found in the highest grade of racing and competition level freeride skis.
Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.
Tip and Tail Protectors: Plastic protectors on the tip and tail increase the durability of the gear tenfold. Your tips and tails are the most likely edges to get cracked, keep 'em safe with tip protectors and your skis will last for a long long time. Salomon Powerline Technology: Powerline is a Salomon dampening technology in which two arms running along the side of the ski absorb terrain changes, improving stability at variable speeds and terrain conditions. Tip Rocker: This refers to the early rising of the tip to get the ski on top of the soft snow, rather than pushing through it. When the skis are held with the bases together, it will look like the tips are bent, and spread away from eachother. Tip rocker also helps skiers pivot the skis, making tight trees remarkably easy, and gives the ski a surf-like feel.
Square Tail: These skis have a square shaped tail, which adds stability to turns on hardpack as well as very steep terrain. Probably not a park ski, though :) Salomon Pulse Pad: A layer of rubber along the edges and in certain zones of the ski for a smoother ride and and improved snow contact. |
