Free L9 Poles: A little love from L9 to you in the form of a free composite Levelninesports.com ski pole. A comparable pole retails for $60 and we sell these for $24 normally. This free pole is for a few select skis as a little sweetener on the already lowest price.
Ideal Target Skier: East Coast Hardpack Lover: This is an excellent ski for East Coast skiers that ski aggressively on the hardpack while still getting off trail a bit. West Coast skiers: this is a carving ski that should only be brought out when the powder is gone and its time to rip the groomers. Salomon L9 Binding Included: These skis come with a Salomon L9 binding, which is a lightweight track-style binding that has a DIN Range of 3-9. These bindings are easy to adjust and are a great compliment for the skis! Composite Core: This ski features a composite core, which has a softer flex and is lighter weight than wood cores. Junior, entry level, and sometimes even women's models have this type of core to make skiing more enjoyable, and less work. Cap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.
Titanium Layer: A thin, but strong layer of Titanium sits under the topsheet of this ski. Not only does it make the ski stronger, it keeps it lighter than other metals, and also creates a dampening effect for the ski. This means it rides smoother over bumpy terrain. Tip Rocker: This refers to the early rising of the tip to get the ski on top of the soft snow, rather than pushing through it. When the skis are held with the bases together, it will look like the tips are bent, and spread away from eachother. Tip rocker also helps skiers pivot the skis, making tight trees remarkably easy, and gives the ski a surf-like feel.
Salomon Pulse Pad: A layer of rubber along the edges and in certain zones of the ski for a smoother ride and and improved snow contact. Turned up tail: These skis have a turned up tail, great for exploring more than the groomed runs. While not a full blown twin tip, these skis will perform better the same way twins will perform better (ie jumps, trees, etc) and have less race like precision than a non turned up tail. These will ski similarly enough to a traditional ski than any skier will feel comfortable yet allow a little more versatility. Integrated Binding System: Once mounted, the binding sits on rails or a plate that is affixed to the ski. The main difference, however, is that the binding can move slightly on the rail during the flexing motion of the ski underneath. This setup means the binding does not inhibit the flex of the ski as it is sort of floating on these rails. What this means for the skier: A more even flex and smoother turn, with less skidding or 'chatter' from the ski. This is most noticeable on groomed terrain. |
