Ideal Target Skier: Powder Hound: If you use your sick days only when it snows 12'' or more overnight and not when you're actually sick, this ski is probably for you. Powder Hounds are on the search for deep and untouched powder, and fat skis to ski it with. Ideal Target Skier: Big Mountain Charger: Top speed, all the time, regardless of terrain, obstacles or children in the way, these skiers need stability on par with professional downhill racers. They are usually looking for long skis that are wide and heavy. Rocker 720: This ski features 720mm (72cm) of rockered tip. That is a lot. The rocker is all in the tip, so the mid-boot region and beyond are traditional flat camber to give stability at high speeds. But these are pretty damn bent, which is exactly what you should be looking for in deep deep snow.
Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.
Cap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.
Swallow Tail: The tail of these skis is not the rounded style (like twin tips), nor is the square style (like carving/racing skis). This ski has the swallow tail style tail, which allows the ski to cruise through softer snow easier, and gives the stability to complete powder turns (at high speeds) without feeling sketchy. Extra Wide Edges: This ski employs thicker-than-average edges to hold up to the beating that you'll put them through. Edge Armor: Fiber reinforcements in the edges that add durability and edge hold on hard pack. |
