A Piste ski that floats in powder, or a powder ski that carves on piste? Salomon poses this question to the world with their new BBR skis. The tips of these skis are shaped like a water ski or a surfboard to help you splash around in soft snow. These skis also have a rockered shape to again help in soft snow, but also to make turn initiation on hardpack very easy. And they are only 79mm, which is narrow enough for hairpin turns and stopping on a dime. These skis are named after Bertrand Kraft (aka Beber, aka BBR), the same guy who developed some serious iconic skis like Salomon's X-Screams, Pocket Rockets, and AK Rockets. Progression and innovation is great to see, and the BBR's might just be the next game changing do-it-all ski.

Secret Stash. You have found the secret stash, home to the best deals on the net, these are the best deals from a website of great deals, insane discounts on products we are trying to move out. These products won't last long so be sure to be quick on the trigger.

Ideal Target Skier: West Coast All Mountain Skier: Skiers on the west coast will enjoy this ski as an all mountain, do everything model, while skiers on the east coast will find this more suitable for powder skiing, or when there is chopped up crud to be had.

Salomon BBR Skis: These skis are not like other skis, the shape is unique and not found anywhere else (yet). These skis are extremely versatile, as their waist widths are not incredibly wide they are nimble in the trees and can carve on hardpack. But the flip side is the big surfy tip, which will absolutely help non-powder skiers learn to love powder. You could take these to the mountain everyday of the winter, no problem.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Cap ConstructionCap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.

V-Shape Sidecut: A very wide tip shape, coupled with a narrow waist and narrow tail, this is the next generation of 'shaped' skis. They are as good on groomers as the current generation of carving skis, but way better in powder.

Salomon Pulse Pad: A layer of rubber along the edges and in certain zones of the ski for a smoother ride and improved snow contact.

Turned up tail: These skis have a turned up tail, great for exploring more than the groomed runs. While not a full blown twin tip, these skis will perform better the same way twins will perform better (ie jumps, trees, etc) and have less race like precision than a non turned up tail. These will ski similarly enough to a traditional ski than any skier will feel comfortable yet allow a little more versatility.
