Salomon Impact 8 CS Men's Ski Boots

Salomon's Impact CS 8 boot brings together the popular Salomon Impact last with the equally popular Custom Shell technology. That means these boots feature a 100mm last that can be custom molded to around 106mm at it's widest (that is really wide!). Moving beyond the Custom Shell, the liner is also heat-moldable and will custom fit to your foot as you ski in it. These boots have a 100 flex rating, which is a good flex for any aggressive skiier from the upper-intermediate to expert level.

100 Flex Rating: This boot is pretty stiff, but not insanely stiff. A boot of this level is pretty good for upper-intermediate to expert level weekend warrior that is looking for something stiff enough to provide high-end response, while being wearable for an entire day of skiing.

Target Skier: Advanced to Expert: These boots are stiff enough and performance oriented enough, that we would recommend them to advanced skiers who will be aggressively skiing the whole mountain. Beginners should look elsewhere!

Extended Lever Buckles: Longer than normal buckles give more leverage power to the skier so he/she can close the boot if a tight fit is desired. Its physics, man!

Micro-adjustable alloy buckles: These alloy buckles can be twisted to adjust for size, so if the default position of the buckle and the teeth is too wide or too narrow, you can twist the buckle like a screw until it fits just right.

35mm strap: Wider than average strap at the top of the boot to help keep the boot together and to give good performance while skiing.

Salomon Custom Shell: With some heating from a professional boot fitter's oven, the shell of this boot can be custom fitted to the exact needs of the skier. The mid to forefoot area can stretch, and at the widest point, the dimension will go from 100mm to about 106mm. Did the guy at the ski shop tell you that you need custom fitted boots? Well, here you go.

Double Canting: Two adjustment bolts, one each side of the ankle, allow for maximum adjustment for leg/knee alignment problems. The canting helps the skis stay flat on the ground while you are still bow-legged or knock-kneed.

Energyzer Bar: A stiff plastic (or sometimes Carbon) that runs up and down the spine (back) of the boot provides a stiffer flex, and better power transmission to the edge of the ski.

My Custom Fit Liner Sport: This boot comes lined with Salomon's My Custom Fit liner (sport) edition. My Custom Fit liner is a moldable liner, that is a somewhat less stiff version of PRO edition. Good for all day comfort, lightweight, but still provides a strong custom-molded fit for aggressive skiing.
