This bag features a padded back and padded shoulders along with a waist belt for added security and comfort while hiking. There is a removable first aid kit pouch (though no first aid materials are included, you have to fill the pouch up with your own stuff) that can also double as a fanny pack waist belt--so if you're travelling with this backpack and want to go on a brief trip with just a small amount of gear, you can unclip the fanny pack and leave the rest of your gear in the backpack in the tent (or hostel/hotel). There is also a waterproof/insulated cooler pocket, which we estimate will hold 12 cans of your favorite beverage. Under the fanny pack there is a padded spot on the back of the bag for the deck of a snowboard and compression straps to keep it from wiggling around. Not mentioned in this blurb are about 20 other various zippered compartments and pockets that will keep safe things safe, dry things dry....and hidden things hidden (wink). 600D Fabric: This heavy duty nylon resists wear and tear, and reduces the risk that sharp edges will cut through the fabric. It is also water resistant, to keep gear dry when inside. Backpack Straps: Carry the handle like a briefcase or open the straps and put your arms through them to wear it like a backpack for more convenience (you need a free hand to carry your boots your carry-on!) Padded shoulder straps: Non-bulky padding on the shoulder straps helps a heavy load feel more comfortable on the shoulders. Padded back: Padding, about 1cm thick, with mesh lining gives users extra comfort, protection and wicks away some of the sweat that comes along with hiking up a mountain with 30lbs of gear on your back. Single Board Capacity: Just one board permitted for this bag, but it will hold a lot of other soft goods inside the bag. Chest compression strap: This strap, when correctly positioned, sits just above the sternum, and helps the shoulder straps and bag stay in place during activity. The elastic strip won't restrict movement and breathing. Bottom Reinforcement: Extra durable material at the bottom of the bag gives strength where its needed most, preventing gear from disappearing through holes and tears. Compression straps: The compression straps on both sides of this bag take up extra room so the gear in the bag doesn't slide around. They also make the bag smaller if a lighter load is being carried for the day. Load Lifter Straps: Adjust the location of your load on your back for a more comfortable fit and less fatigue. Top Pocket: A convenient pocket on top of the bag to store some smaller items like wallet and keys. First aid pouch: A small external pocket, measuring about 6x9 inches, has a quick release tab to get quick access to whatever is put in there. As the name suggests, probably best to put first aid supplies in this pocket. Load Securing Straps: Two straps inside the bag, and two on the outside of the bag, ensure the gear inside doesn't shift around when traveling. This helps prevent the skis and poles from getting damaged. Mp3 pocket: A small, secure pocket with a small slit for the routing of an earphone cord, to keep in touch with the music world and less in touch with the actual world. Side Zippered Pocket: A side pocket will hold some small trinkets and a smelly pair of socks, so they are easy to find and keep the rest of the bag from smelling. ID Slot: A clear pocket for return address when the airline loses your bags. |
