Spyder Race Gear
Spyder's race gear is broken up into two categories. Essentially, there is Kyd's gear for youth racers, and a race series for everyone else. As always, this gear is as high quality as you can get. So without further hesitation, let's talk about Spyder Kyd's gear.
Spyder Kyd Gear
Currently, we have two models of Spyder Kyd training pants. First, we have the Spyder Kyd training pants. These snow pants are fully waterproof (10k/10k), and feature critically taped seams to eliminate water soaking through the most troublesome seams. What makes these pants really unique though, is the ability to convert them from full length pants, to shorts by simply unzipping the bottom of the legs. This is great for kids who race, as days usually start off cold, but heat up quickly once training starts. Of course, these pants also have all of the features you'd expect from any pair of snow pants, such as thigh pockets and snow cuffs.
In addition to the Kyd's training pants, we also picked up some Spyder soft-shell training shorts. This garment is a water resistant pair of shorts that are perfect for warm spring training days. Rather than being made from your standard waterproof material that doesn't breathe well, Spyder made these shorts out of the same material that their soft-shell jackets are made from. The result is a pair of shorts that will keep you ventilated on the warmer days, and will stretch to allow effortless motion. These pants are a must have for any serious racer.
Of course you can't race in cotton socks, so we also grabbed up a bunch of Kyd's ski socks. Both the Spyder Kyd's Performance socks and the Spyder Kyd's Paisley socks are made using a specific Acrylic/Nylon/Elastane blend that maximizes comfort and warmth. Additionally, they feature padding in the shin and under the arch of the foot to help alleviate the extra pains at the end of a day of racing. Simply put, if you're going to be racing, you need these socks.

Spyder Race Gear for Adults
If you've already outgrown the Kyd range, then you need to check out Spyder's Race Gear for adults. Just like the Kyd's line, this gear is all top of the line race gear that essential to your setup. That's why we decided to pick up soft-shell training shorts for men. These Spyder soft-shell training shorts are made with the same soft-shell material as the Kyd's version, as well as all of Spyder's soft-shell jackets. These Spyder soft-shell training shorts are water resistant and feature removable elastic suspenders. These Spyder soft-shell training shorts are ideal for those warmer days where pants are just too much.
Another piece of clothing that's essential to any adult ski racer is a good pair of armor pants. We picked up a couple of styles of armor pants, the Spyder GS D30 Armor Bib Pant and the Spyder GS Armor Pants. Both of these pants have Spyder's D30 padding sewn into them in crucial areas. This padding is unique in it's ability to conform to your body, allowing unrestricted movement, while offering a superb level of protection. If you've ever crashed a gate before, then you know why you need these pants. And while other brands offer padded pants, none of them compare to Spyder's D30 Armor.
