Back ProtectionWho needs it?Back protection is essential for the more aggressive skier or snowboarder. With all the dangers that exist on the mountain such as rocks, skree, cliffs and other hazards, it's not a matter of if that injury causing fall will occur, but when. Back protection is becoming more an more popular these days and it's obvious to see why. Here is some info on the back protection we carry. Read through it and see the light... Anatomical Fit: Hey, your back knows you’re not riding a motorcycle. Skiing and snowboarding puts a load on your spine that doesn’t happen when you’re participating in other sports. That’s why Head protective gear is specifically designed for snow sports. First, the size and shape of the pads align with specific parts of your anatomy. Then the natural S-curve of the spine is combined with precise side, forward and backward rotation flexibility to provide total freedom of movement with optimum protection. Removable Protection Unit: Head gives you the flexibility of using the Unit and Jacket separately so you can add protection to any layering piece. Moverite System: Protection is only effective if it stays in place. That’s why the back protection comes with wide elastic Velcro belly belts, adjustable shoulder straps, precise jacket and vest designs to keep protection in place. Flexshell Technology: Imagine 10 lightweight, impact resistant shields coordinated to pivot any direction to deliver full flexibility and constant protection in about any situation you get yourself into. This is the HEAD Flexshell. The specially formulated Polyethylene shields are designed to work in cold weather conditions and provide significant impact resistance. The honeycomb inner layer enhances breathability while absorbing impact and adding very little weight. PP Honeycomb: The honeycomb material absorbs the majority of impacts and reduces the force that reaches the spine. It’s made of light, Thermoplastic material that is flexible and totally breathable. Brock Foam: This lightweight, breathable material is used in football shin guards so of course it's incorporated it into the back protection. Certification Ce En 1621-1: HEAD takes certification very seriously. This is why all of their equipment is tested in cold temperatures, not room temperature like most other manufacturers. The “CE” part of this rating not only includes the impact absorbing test according to the “EN” rating, but also includes correct sizing and fitting tests, and the non-poisoning materials check for all parts. |
