when we first got the fortress shipment in, I was responsible for taking all of the pictures of the kreed and crush goggles. The pair that caught my eye immediately was the Zenith Woodgrain style goggles
(which we’ve since sold out of I do believe) . anywho, i’d been using them for the entire season until last week. I hiked up the mountain behind my house with skis strapped to my backpack and my goggles clicked into the cheststrap on my backpack. When I got to the top, I unclicked my pack and the goggles that were linked into them flew off and started sliding down the mountain. It was a pretty bare face with no trees or bushes until the very bottom so these babies tumbled all the way down and kept picking up speed.
I looked for them when I got to the bottom but they are woodgrain…perfect camouflage for the bushes and trees at the bottom. Not like I would’ve found them anyway.
RIP woodgrains. You shall be missed.
probably something far more pressing. but I felt like doing one of these.
The levelnine blog seems to have fallen by the wayside, so I suppose I’ll breathe some life into this baby. I’m not sure if I should use this space to shill for the Dynastars we’re working hard to put online (LOTS OF NEW DYNASTARS!!!), or if I should try to make it more of a personal thing. That was shameless enough for one post, I suppose.
So I went snowboarding yesterday for one of the first times this winter (I’ve been skiing like 9 out of 10 days), and it is a fact: people are much friendlier when you have poles in your hands. I’ll have the same outfit on, same everything, but a snowboard strapped on to the feet automatically equals hoodlum. With my skis on the tourists in the gondola and on the lifts are all full of smiles and chit chat, but with a snowboard they think I’m going to sell their kids drugs or something. Seriously, I would sell their kids drugs on skis, too (just kidding, how long til that part gets snipped?)….
btw, i didnt invent “chris speaks,” and i’ll surely change it just as soon as I can think of something better.
We put a grand into this comparison shopping engine to try to get some more of you wonderful customers. It became clear that this was just a waste of money for us. The bounce rate (% of customers that leave upon arrival) was far higher than any other source we use. And every week or so they demand that you reload your database … who has time for that?
No problem, you try something it does’t work, you stop and cut your losses. Not so with these guys.. they wont give me back my $531 we still have left in our account. We either use it or lose it. I guess we could fight with my CC company, no way this can be legit. But we’re too busy running a business we don’t have time to fight.
Of course every business has their own unique target audience and advertising that works for one business may not work for all, but id suggest you go to one of the other engines who don’t hold your money ransom.
