there was a serious car chase yesterday in my neck of the woods (the highway between park city and salt lake city). Apparently some guy had a nervous breakdown and started speeding away from police, then turned around in the median of the highway and drove the other way, then started driving the opposite way of oncoming traffic. All of this before running into the back axle of an ethanol tanker.

No one was hurt, except for the driver of the rogue vehicle, who died, presumably immediately. The ethanol tanker had its back tank displaced and was leaking (I think), so safety/evacuation/hazard type personnel closed the I-80 E for most of Sunday to pump the ethanol into another tanker.

It is weird to see a chase on the news and be like “wow, I drive that road every single day except for sundays”.
