ive returned home from hawaii and since this is a ski/snowboard site I think the one thing from hawaii that is applicable is that you can ski on their volcanoes. Seriously. There was a sign at the observatory on Mauna Loa (which is a 13,000 foot hill) that said “Please use caution when skiing or snowboarding.” It didn’t say don’t do it, just be careful. I wonder how many people drive up to the top on a powder day in Hawaii…
Also we are considering offering the full line of some of our ski companies like Fischer Skis, Head Skis, and Dynastar Skis, and for products that we don’t actually have in stock the shipping time would be about a week longer. email info@levelninesports.com if you would be interested or have some comment.
that last part was a clever way to get some search engine optimization into this post, but it still is true.
So the shop that we have been in for the last couple years or so is officially being vacated and transferred into 2 locations. The one location is 2185 S. Highland Drive (at the intersection of 13 East and Highland) which is a retail store, and the other location is a strictly warehouse that is a few blocks away.
Simultaneously I am moving from Park City to Salt Lake…PC is nice but with gas being $92489248 a tank, I really need to drive less…
So thats three moves and all of them are pretty tiring and time consuming, but hey on the bright side I’m going furniture shopping tomorrow. woooo
we also have a forum created (that admittedly is in its genesis) levelninesports.com/forum is the location of it and it will be a place for the lev9 staff as well as customers to write reviews on gear, service, whatever. maybe we could even make a little community out of it and people can post threads with funny links and youtube videos and stuff..you know like a regular forum.
and snowbird is still open. so is levelninesports(.com)
there was a serious car chase yesterday in my neck of the woods (the highway between park city and salt lake city). Apparently some guy had a nervous breakdown and started speeding away from police, then turned around in the median of the highway and drove the other way, then started driving the opposite way of oncoming traffic. All of this before running into the back axle of an ethanol tanker.
No one was hurt, except for the driver of the rogue vehicle, who died, presumably immediately. The ethanol tanker had its back tank displaced and was leaking (I think), so safety/evacuation/hazard type personnel closed the I-80 E for most of Sunday to pump the ethanol into another tanker.
It is weird to see a chase on the news and be like “wow, I drive that road every single day except for sundays”.
