welcome to spring, here is a 3000lb block of ice

Filed under: Chris Speaks — Chris @ 1:57 pm

yesterday night, while I was busy minding my own business (believe I was playing video games), a truly massive block of ice and snow slid off of the roof into a basement window well and broke a window with an extremely loud bang. So I go into the bathroom to see that the window, while still in place, was well cracked in at least a dozen places. Then I went outside to check it out from that perspective and holy hell this is a giant piece of ice and snow. It was probably the size of a small car.

To make a long story short, a few plans were hatched about what to do with the chunk of ice, but in the end the only solution was to take shovels and picks and break it up into smaller chunks that we could move…otherwise the broken window was bound to give way and the glacier would melt/pile in through the window and cause even more mayhem.

it wasnt as bad as it sounds though, it was almost fun
