Size: 140cm Sidecut: 108-67-97mm Turn radius: 10.6m
Target skier: that's tough.. ideally we say this is suited for the strong western intermediate who wants to never have to buy a ski until they decide to get a powder specific model. However, this is a great ski for easter folks as well. We are big fans of this ski for anyone who skis enough to make use of it.. lower intermediates and expert skiers may want to stay away, everyone else jump on in the waters fine. Features: Carbon Jacket - durable semi stiff mdeium weight construction. X-Frame - Heads proven ski core. Head's tag line is: The 5.70 has a superb all mountain sidecut. This ski will be equally at home on the groomers as in the crud and powder. We dare say that this ski is as good a fit as the lower advanced level will find. If you ski mostly on trail, have no fear, there will be no on trail condition that this ski cannot handle. Head calls the 5.7 an all mountain cruiser and we think the name applies. All Mountain Cruise: Symbiosis of the all-mountain carve and freeride categories. Due to the even larger waist width of 70 mm this category is distinguished by ease of handling in all snow conditions and by carved and drifted turns. Sidecut is less accentuated than in the all-mountain carve category. Head Monster series skis are designed for true all mountain enjoyment. Monster series skis run the ability gamut from upper intermediate to expert and vary in on/trail off trail mix of 75/25 to 20/80 . The wider monster skis are designed more for aggressive off piste skiing, being both fatter and stiffer than their narrower Monster cousins. It is easy to determine which ski style monster you are looking at as they are named by their waist width. Thus the narrowest are the Monster 70s and widest the 88's. Though all Monster skis excel in all conditions, the higher the number in the series, the better it will be in variable snow. Our Ski Selector can take the guesswork out of choosing the correct ski. If you are going to be using your monsters exclusively off trail, we recommend hooking up with a free flex binding below (this option not available on railflex skis.) If you will be skiing all mountain or mainly on groomed runs (and monsters do great on groomed runs) we recommend choosing a raillfex binding. Skiers not looking for quite so much off trail skiing should check out some of our XRC series skis, those of you who want some versatile skis that maybe are not so stiff should view our Mojo lines. If you purchase this ski and choose a ski binding below, we will mount the bindings at no charge (including fat brake arms if necessary). If you also buy a boot from us on the same order, we will test and adjust the bindings to the boot so you are ready to hit the slopes out of the box. There will be a form for mounting and adjustment information AFTER checkout.
