If you need to know why this particular item is so inexpensive it's quite simple. Advanced math lesson begin: We didn't order these skis. Head shipped a ton to us anyway. They had to cut us a great price to keep them. I pass that on to you. Advanced math lesson end. Should you feel guilty for buying such gear at such a price? Clearly you should, and the way we recommend you relieve that guilt is by telling a friend about LevelNineSports.com. Money in your pocket and no sleepless nights can be yours. You could also browse the site for more goods to buy with the money you save, but then you would end up with more guilt from more silly prices and you only have so many friends. The C-220 is a carving machine. It has a sidecut that want to rip off turns. It is wide enough to handle some off trail action. If you spend a great deal of time off trail you are probably better off checking out our 'Monster' skis. If you want a stiffer ski check out our C-140 or 240s, if you are not an aggressive (fast) skier our C-210 will be better for you. Head 'C' series skis are designed for carving. They have the right shape to easily make perfect turns no matter what your skill level. 'C' series skis run the gamut from low intermediate to expert. Though they are mainly for on trail fun, they are not as narrow as carving skis of five years ago and so you won't find yourself overmatched in powder or crud. Make no mistake though, these skis excel on groomers, hard pack, and ice. Because of this most Eastern skiers are best off on 'C' series skis. Western skiers who spend most of their time on groomed runs also do best with carving skis. 'C' series skis range from 00 series (either C 100 or C200) to 50 or 60 (again either 150 or 250). The higher numbered skis are stiffer more feature laden and geared towards stronger skiers, the lower numbered skis are softer, easier to turn and designed for intermediates and those who don't ski fast. 110 and 210 skis (and 120/220 etc) are the same skis just a different model year. Head perfected the carving ski a few years back so you should not be concerned about which model year you are getting as much as you should be dialed in to the correct skill level. Our Ski Selector can take the guesswork out of choosing the correct ski. To perfect your carving experience, we recommend choosing any railflex binding listed below for the ultimate setup. Skiers who may want to spend a little more time off of groomed runs may want to check out our extensive selection of XRC series skis, which have a little more surface area for variable snow, but still sport a great carving sidecut. SymPro binding plates premounted - These Skis come with a premounted plate, but we can replace them with Railflex binding plates. If you purchase this ski and choose a ski binding below, we will mount the bindings at no charge (including fat brake arms if necessary). If you also buy a boot from us on the same order, we will test and adjust the bindings to the boot so you are ready to hit the slopes out of the box. There will be a form for mounting and adjustment information AFTER checkout.
