My girl friend wears a 6.5 shoe in as wide as she can get it, or a 7 if she can't get wide 6.5s. I thought a 24 Mondo was a size 7 in women's shoes. Could you tell me what boot you would recomend...she is an intermediate skier who hasn't skid much in the last 10 years. -Pete August 24, 2009 8:04AM Most skiers at this ability level like a little bit of comfort room in their boots, and that's why our sizing hints toward a bigger size. A 24.0 is about a women's 6.5-7, but for what you describe, a 24.5 or even a 25.0 would be more comfortable. The 24.0 is the more correct size to help her become a better skier, but her toes will be touching the front of the boot likely. The other line of boots that are wide are the Head Edge series, which we have several options in her size. -L9 cs team August 24, 2009 8:04AM I think I am looking for the exact same boot as poster above described. I wear 6.5W ladies shoes, and normally go for 7 ski boot. I was just in local ski store and they recommended me to Head Edge +GS 23.5 mondo size (2009 ski boot)... I thought maybe it is too short but when they took the liner out it was roomy that I couldn't feel the top or side of the boot. With the liner, the top left edge of my right foot (my bigger foot) was touching a bit and I said maybe I should get size 24.0 boot? the ski shop guy said he thought that would be worse because my foot would be sliding around as the boot would be too big. I did the standup test with the shoehorn at the back of the foot (gap inspection)... and there is an appropriate amount of space at the back when I lean forward with the boot on. I gather the liners need to be broken in for boots to fit properly.
What do you have in stock that would be good for me? Your prices are great. -OntSkier December 13, 2009 3:42PM The main test is when you have the boot buckled up properly with the heel back and you flex your kness forward in an active ski position, is the pressure on the toes minimal and is the foot snug but not in pain. If yes that is the correct size no matter what any chart says. If your toes had pressure when sitting it does not mean anything, if they had too much pressure when in a ski position then yes you need to go up in size. We have plenty of edge boots in either 23 or 24 depending upon which you feel better in. -Rich (L9 owner) December 13, 2009 4:12PM Enter follow up to this question
