Description
Target Group: Beginners to well advanced skiers
Here is the real scoop:
These skis have an excellent large sidecut. Translation: they carve easily and are incredible learning tools as they effortlessly force you to ski correctly.
Flotation-Index: 122 (that's a big number)
These skis were made for the rental market, but let me say they are awesome. With wood core torsional box, snakeskin topsheet (an awesome texture that resists scratching and wear), and heavy duty thick edges, they were designed to last for years and look good doing it.
Head labels the features and target groups as such:
+ Ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers
+ Strong sidecut for quick turn inititation
+ Large central width for more stability
+ Soft flex combined with short length for wide skiing style
This ski has a turn radius 20% less than a comparable sized 'normal' shaped ski.
I think it is safe to say there is no other ski out there with such a small turn radius and wide stance underfoot. What this means is a ski that turns quickly but is stable. Perfect for those of you trying to perfect (or learn) your parallel turns.
They have a huge surface area (that is what that F-Index nonsense is). Translation: they love to hit crud or powder.
This ski is newer to my arsenal, and you are getting a one year jump on the retail market here, but let me say these skis truly are all mountain skis for the beginner or intermediate. The best you can find.
That's not quite the end of the story because advanced or expert skiers also have a blast with the versatility of these skis, with one exception:
These skis are not made for high speeds. No ski can do everything and high speed carving will not be stable with these skis.
Additionally the awesome shape make these dynamite touring skis, mounted with your tele bindings of course.
Please note that these skis have a HUGE surface area, so unless you are buying these exclusively for off trail conditions, you should buy 5-10cm shorter than you commonly use with shaped skis.
I encourage you to add a carve plate (or get bindings with natural built in lift, i.e demos or railflex) to these skis unless you will be using these mainly for off trail skiing.
This ski is very forgiving. You can make form mistakes and it will not take you out. High speeds do cause a little problem as the ski is soft and has such a big sidecut. A superb Intermediate ski for any snow conditions. This ski has a big surface area and a big sidecut so it encourages correct skiing. Faster advanced/expert skiers should not buy this ski. But most skiers will feel comfortable in any conditions.
This skis is solid in most all terrain conditions. And excels in variable snow conditions
- therasin.
These skis feature a Snakeskin Topsheet. This is a ribbed rugged surface that repels scratches and wear far greater than a typical topsheet. It won't make you ski better, but it will make you look better.
Additional Info
A ski of this length would typically used by a skier about 75 inches tall. Aggressive skiers or those looking for good off trail performance may go longer, beginners may go shorter.
