Head Carve X3 Orange-Blue Junior Ski Boots 26.5

This boot is a semi translucent orange-yellowish color with metallic blue buckles. The Carve X3 is a staple in the Head kid's lineup. If two buckles isn't enough performance and four buckles seems like overkill for your child, there is the 3 buckled Carve X3. This boot comes in sizes that many adults would fit into, but because of the softness and ultra-lightness of the shell, it is mostly recommended for kid's or very petite adults.

Description

Mondo Size: 26.5
Sole Length: 301mm

Target Skier: Juniors or lighter adults that don’t ski at top speeds.

Features:
Color: Orange with blue buckles
Flex Rating: Not published, but maybe about 40

Super light shell: The lightest and softest boots that Head makes utilize this shell. Great for casual skiers because these boots are the easiest to walk around in, easiest to take on and put off and help reduce fatigue.

Carve junior liner: This basic, yet comfortable liner offers adequate support for the little ones and enough insulation to keep them warm (and complaining less). The comfort footbed will give a bit of extra support in the heel and arch.

Makrolon Buckles: Makrolon buckles are made from the same type of plastic laminate used in bullet proof glass. These babies are highly shatter resistant and scratch resistant, while being very lightweight.

Junior Boot Fit:This is a boot designed for junior skiers. Keep in mind that ALL junior boots are designed for lower volume (i.e. narrower) feet. If your child does not have such a foot or you are buying a larger junior boot for an adult, you should consider sizing up

Additional Info

These boot fit approximately a Men's 8.0 or a Women's 9. For a tighter skiers fit consider sizing down 1/2-1 size.

Solid 3 buckle kid's boot, short on glitz and glamour--but also short on price tag. (S)he's going to grow out of whatever boot you end up buying, anyway.

is there a way to get these boots in a bigger size for like a 16 year old with a size of 11 size foot??
-kevin February 23, 2010 5:33PM

The X3 boot is a jr boot and was not made for a size 11 foot of a 16y/o. take a look at these: http://www.levelninesports.com/roxa-cruise-mens-ski-boots-black-wintuition-liners-295-p-6846.html

would this boot be okay for a very aggressive (trees, jumps, fast skiing) advanced intermediate, large 11 year old or would you recommend something else?
-sharond December 28, 2009 8:45AM

He should probably be in some softer adult boots. The X3 is pretty soft, and not that good if he is very aggressive. The adult boots will give him the support he needs.

Would this boot be okay for an intermediate, small 12 year old?
     -Matt December 30, 2009 2:21PM

This boot was made for an intermediate 12 year old. Better than okay, this is a really good choice for an intermediate 12 y/o
