Edge de-tuning This Head snowboard has an elliptical sidecut (imagine a big ellipse instead of a big circle), which is cool because it rides more stable on straights, but still packs a bite when you're carving out turns. The elliptical cut makes it so the turning radius is different depending on where on the board the turn is initiated. It is expressed on our website from back to front, so a turn initiated with your front foot would be the third number. In general the middle number will be the most accurate gauge of turn radius because the edge in the middle will be the most commonly used turning edge. Hooray for science!
