Level Nine says: This is a great all mountain ski. Backside, Big Mountain, Crud, Freeride, Off-Piste, Powder, Big Mountain, Groomers – no matter this ski can handle it all. Clearly this ski was designed and marketed to tele and back-country skiers, but as usual we at Level Nine think outside the box. Sure this is a great ski for those it was designed for, but it is also a fantastic choice for the resort skier who wants a do anything ski without the accompanying do nothing weight.
Head Says:
NEW: THE GREAT ESCAPE.
With quad-lifts and cable cars becoming increasingly efficient, the density of people on the slope is on the rise. More and more people turn to the backcountry for a piece of nature and some peace of mind. This put the touring ski back on the HEAD R&D map. Based on the philosophy of the legendary HEAD Alpinist, the new Monster Alpinist combines touring virtues like extremely light weight with a contemporary freeride shape. In addition, the new convex our-frame and waxed (!) PE top sheet were developed to keep snow from sticking to the ski during the ascent. That should save another couple hundred calories.
The Alpinist is back! Reinvented with state-of-the art ski making technology. For those who hike.
If you purchase this ski and choose a ski binding below, we will mount the bindings at no charge (including fat brake arms if necessary). If you also buy a boot from us on the same order, we will test and adjust the bindings to the boot so you are ready to hit the slopes out of the box. There will be a form for mounting and adjustment information AFTER checkout.
