DIN (release value): 3.5-12
Look made this binding as an improvement and upgrade from the Pivot series bindings. It no longer has the Pivot heel, but it is much stronger and has a better retention system than previous styles. Some skiers are stuck on the Pivot, and that's fine. Those should check out the P 12. For the skiers that believe in the advancement of technology and improved gear, the PX series binding is the one for you. The improvements are real and the binding is overall, better than the P12. You can even add a wide brake if you have some powder or freeride skis below. This Demo binding allows the adjustment to any adult size boot. It also can be adjusted on the fly to let your buddies try out your setup. The great thing about Demo bindings is they increase the resale value of a ski, because the buyer doesn't need to remount the bindings. If that isn't important to you, then maybe safety and performance are. The toepiece of this binding allows the boot to exit at any angle. Listen closely to your ACL's cheering about now. Overall, this is a great binding for the intermediate to advanced level skier. The PX series of bindings is the result of years of experience, innovative technology, and concern for safety. The original 'P' series bindings have been improved with a new design in the 'PX' series to give greater precision in the binding to boot interface. The lateral strength of the binding heel has been increased by 40%, which also increses torsional strength. The heelpiece now has 25mm of elastic travel, which translates to better vibration absorption and reduces the risk of unwanted release. The lateral arms of the heelpiece maximize the energy transmission created by a skier entering a turn, increasing thrust by 30%. In summary, the PX bindings are rock solid and can handle the abuse that advanced and expert level skiers dish out. For the skiers that are stuck on their love of the Pivot heel from earlier models: The PX design is safer, has fewer pre-releases, reduces the pull-out issue of the pivot, is stronger... the list goes on. If you aren't convinced that an improved design is good for your skiing, then we can only assume you are still rocking your 200 cm straight skis. Just to give you a reference, the Pivot design was released about 20 years ago. The PX design was released in 2006. See below for brake arm selection.
