It is true that this is a basic binding, but it is also true that it works great for most recreational skiers and in selling thousands of these over the years we have had only one break (which we promptly replaced and installed free of charge.) Don't misunderstand, a Railflex binding is a better binding, but for those of you who are looking to save some scratch or whose ski does not allow a railflex option, you should feel totally comfortable getting this binding.
