We got some true honest to goodness rear-entry boots from Alpina. The masses still ask for rear-entry boots, so Level Nine obliges. And there are good reasons why people still ask for rear entry boots, namely the fact that they open so large that you can slip these on easier than a pair of Vans. As far as skiing performance goes, this is a recreational cruiser boot. Anyone from a complete beginner to a pretty good skier who prefers to take it easy can find a happy home in this boot. NOTE: The sizing on these boots is a little different from other brands, please refer to the sizing chart on this page for correct sizing.

This chart provides a safe comfortable size that most all skiers will be able to use. If you are looking for a true skier's performance fit you may want to size down one half to one full size smaller. For most ski boots, the full (.0) size uses the same shell and liner as the half (.5) size (like, 25.0 and 25.5) and will have almost an identical fit.

This boot has a 105mm width in the forefoot area, and is one of the widest available for ski boots. This width gives wide-footed skiers a chance to enjoy skiing, instead of cramping up and getting pressure points the whole day. Average width skiers will find that this width is very comfortable and warm.

40 Flex Rating: 40 Flex for an adult boot is VERY soft, and indicates that this boot is meant for beginners and very casual cruiser skiers. If this is a junior boot, 40 flex is stiffer than average and will be meant for strong kid skiers.

Alpina Sizing : Alpina boots mondo to US shoe sizing conversion is a little different from most other brands. Please make sure to refer to the sizing chart in order to find your correct size.

Rear Entry Shell Design: This boot features a true Rear entry shell design, just like from the 80s. No hybrid almost rear-entry buckle systems. Just a single ratchet-tightening buckle and a massive rear opening.

High Thermal: This boot features extra thermal material in the toe of the boot to keep your foot a little extra warm.

Replaceable Toe and Heel Pads: This is a must-have for skiers that don't live in ski in/ski out condos. When your ski tech tells you that you have to buy new boots because the soles are worn down too much, just laugh at him and tell him to order you a new set of sole plates.

Hey!! I'm happy to FIND a rear entry boot! I'm having an issue with my right foot.. a sprain is not completely healed from - 4-5 months ago.
I have a very narrow foot; shoe size 7.5. Would your rear entry boot fit well enough to ski 'Blues'?
I have a 11 EEE width. Will the 28.5 fit? Thank you
Do you have size 25.5 which is Size (295 mm) or size 8/8.5?
Looking at Alpina sizing chart, I should order a size 26. You don't offer that in your list. Will 25.5 make more sense than 26.5??????
I wear a mens dress shoe size 9.5 What ski boot should I buy
I was measured last night at 28 size. i normally wear a size 11 shoe. i need a rear entry boot because of my feet condition.

Are these for men, women, either? I wear a women's 7 US. What size should I order?
if i know what size my wife wears in a dalbello woundnt it be the same size in these ?
What is your online purchase return policy
Are they compatible with all new bindings?
My usual size is 31 narrow. I am counting on being able to pack the liner around the ankle and possibly remove some toe insulation if the 30.5 is too short. What's your opinion on this?
Are these boots for women as well as for men? I wear an 8 1/2 in athletic shoes and according to your chart I should take a 26 but I see you don't offer that. I am having bunion surgery with my big toe joint fused and the only boot I will be able to wear is a rear entry boot and these are the only ones I can find. What should I do?
Will you be getting more sizes?

Great!!Review by Ksav
Everyone told me I couldnt go back to a rear entry boot , they would lack in performance. I cannot tell any difference. I love them. They are so much more comfortable any so much easier to get in and out of (Posted on 1/25/2017)
Fantastic BootsReview by Smiling Bob
Comfortable, Easy to get in an out of, Warm, Good performance, and Good-looking. What more could I ask for? After years of agony getting in and out of conventional ski boots, I am totally delighted with my Alpina R4's. The knock on rear entry boots is that you have to sacrifice performance. That may be true for professional ski racers, but for an advanced intermediate like me these boots are perfect. My skiing has been better with these boots than with my expensive 5-bucklers and NO BOOT PAIN from the get-go. Thanks, Alpina. (Posted on 1/22/2017)
Great boots!Review by Steve
I bought these Alpina rear entry boots for my daughter who wanted a comfortable ski boot that was easy to put on. She has used them once and loves them. They are comfortable and warm, and thanks to the adjustable buckle, also accommodate her large calfs. Now my son wants a pair, and I may even order a pair for myself. These aren't tight fitting racing boots but are designed for comfort and the average recreational skier. If you're into racing and stiff boots, these probably aren't for you. But if your looking for a comfortable boot to cruise with- you can't go wrong. And the price is unbeatable! (Posted on 1/17/2017)

I have been looking for rear entry boots for the last 5 years. I had a pair I totally wore out and then couldn't find a replacement. Tried these yesterday. Fit is good, kept my feet warm, easy in and out. (Posted on 1/11/2017)
Finally!Review by Jen
Thank you for making/selling these!

I have large calves and have trouble finding boots that fit, since no one makes rear entry boots anymore. I stumbled upon these boots during an internet search, and I am ecstatic! I've been skiing for 30 years and these are just like the rear entry boots I started with. They are comfortable and just what I was looking for.

I'm going to buy a spare pair, just in case the industry goes mad again and decides not to manufacture this style anymore! (Posted on 1/9/2017)
Look no furtherReview by Savio
Slip in and out easily with one strap! I'm not sure why anyone would opt for a 4 strap boot after they have tried these. You should look no further, especially with this great price!

I didn't have any issue with sizing, despite info on this page. Always rented 28.5 and 28.5 fitted perfectly! (Posted on 12/26/2016)
Still LookingReview by Ricky
I am an experienced skier with Young Onset Parkinson's Disease and I was looking for boots which are actually easy to get into. These boots are and are comfortable but lack mid foot support due to lack of a retention system. This makes nice crisp turns difficult (like trying to ski with bottom buckles undone). It would be nice if someone still made decent rear entry boots for skiers with mobility issues. (Posted on 1/21/2016)

Alpina 2015 R4 Rear Entry BootsReview by BP
I have a 10.5 EEE width foot and for over 30 years had read entry boots. I was still wearing my white Solomon’s from 20 years ago and didn’t think they still made RE boots. I was delighted when I found these (and what a great price) so I bought the 28.5 and found they fit beautifully. I wore them two hours and walked up and down my 15 stair staircase very well. I have large calfs and needed a bit more room on the strap. So looked at the strap and found another adjustment to lengthen the strap 1+” which was just what I needed. I’ve skied for 40+ years and I cruise as fast as my skis will take me. (Posted on 10/29/2015)
