The Amplid 2013 Infracomb Ski might just be the lightest 107mm wide ski we have ever held in our hands. There are HEXO2 honeycomb inserts in the tip and tail significantly lighten up the ski and minimize the swing weight for easy turning and tricking. This ski is fully cambered for the most amount of edge grip and pop off of backcountry jumps and cliffs. This would be a great option for those skiers who don't identify with just one type of skiing. This bad boy will shine in the park, powder, crud, groomers and even rails. The all black top-sheet with multicolored rose base says you're a low key guy that shows his sensitive side from time to time, or something along those lines.

Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.

Ideal Target Skier: Big Mountain Charger: Top speed, all the time, regardless of terrain, obstacles or children in the way, these skiers need stability on par with professional downhill racers. They are usually looking for long skis that are wide and heavy.

Expert Binding Choices: Some of the binding options (i.e. the Head GTO 15) available for this ski have high din ranges that start at 8 or 9. A very small percentage of skiers will be suitable for these bindings. If you know that you usually set your din at 8 or above, you are in the clear for a high din binding. Otherwise, those bindings are for EXPERT SKIERS ONLY!

Speed: Very Fast: Skiing at this speed means keeping up with the best skiers on the mountain, while still maintaining control.

Sandwich Construction (SW): SW means that the sides of the skis are a vertical wall rather the the rounded Cap construction forund on most skis. Since none of the skis material needs to be exerting force maintaining shape at the edges, SW skis are stiffer than their Cap counterparts. Most people find SW skis to be damper, that is more glued to the snow, superior at high speed GS turns and top notch at busting through crud or choppy snow.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Sintered Base: The material used for the base is harder, and therefore more durable than other options (Extruded). This material should be waxed regularly for best performance.

45-90 Degree Sidewall: The sidewall is custom routed to a 45 and 90 degree angle to provide strength for impacts, solid edging power, and helps reduce chipping at the topsheet.

Active Camber: In a world of early rise, rocker, and reverse camber, there still is a need for traditional full camber skis. The edge grip and stability is unmatched on groomed snow. This ski gets maximum edge to the snow, so it helps skiers skiing the firm stuff, or just prefer the 'feel' of traditional camber skis.

We Have Recommended Some Bindings For You: You will notice there is a dropdown menu that says "Ski Bindings" above. These are simply a list of curated bindings we recommend will work best for this particular ski but other bindings will work as well. There are a few factors i.e. brake width, DIN range, ability level that determine an appropriate binding choice, so let us know if you need assistance.

3 Choice Mount Position : The three choices are as follows. Park Mount is where the bindings are closer to dead center on the ski and is best for freeride skiers who want to ski switch a lot of the time. Manufacturer's mount is where the makers of the ski recommend you mount the bindings (usually between park and powder mount). Finally Powder mount is the furthest back on the ski which allows for more tip length and float in powder. If you wish to get more technical on where we mount your skis, please contact customer service.

HEXO2 Core Inserts: HEXO2 core replaces specific areas of weightier wood at the tips with featherlight recycled paper honeycomb, practically eliminating swing weight making for a more nimble and quick turning ski.

Topsheet Wear and Tear: Sandwich Sidewall skis may be prone to topsheet chipping even after one day of skiing. This is especially true when skiers are learning (banging the skis together more) or while skiing in the terrain park where there is more impact on the ski while hitting rails and jumps. This is normal cosmetic wear and tear and does not affect the overall performance of the ski.
