The Armada El Rey is a lightweight, 85mm wide ski for park skiers who like to ride the whole mountain. This ski is a great choice for those looking to exclusively ski the terrain park or if that's not your thing, the El Rey performs great all over the mountain. This ski is fully cambered (there is no rocker) and was built with a cap construction which adds extra durability and a slightly stiffer flex. The El Rey is a fun, affordable ski to be enjoyed by intermediates and experts alike.

Active Camber: In a world of early rise, rocker, and reverse camber, there still is a need for traditional full camber skis. The edge grip and stability is unmatched on groomed snow. This ski gets maximum edge to the snow, so it helps skiers skiing the firm stuff, or just prefer the 'feel' of traditional camber skis.

Expert Binding Choices: Some of the binding options (i.e. the Head GTO 15) available for this ski have high din ranges that start at 8 or 9. A very small percentage of skiers will be suitable for these bindings. If you know that you usually set your din at 8 or above, you are in the clear for a high din binding. Otherwise, those bindings are for EXPERT SKIERS ONLY!

Fiberglass Laminate Matrix: Deliberate directional layering of fiberglass stringers dictates the flex pattern and torsional rigidity of the ski. Basically, it works with the wood core to give the ski its snap and response.

Cap Construction: The topsheet of this ski drapes over the edge to form a clean and rounded finish to the side of the ski. This style of construction adds some torsional rigidity, and helps reduce topsheet chipping when the skis hit each other.

3 Choice Mount Position : The three choices are as follows. Park Mount is where the bindings are closer to dead center on the ski and is best for freeride skiers who want to ski switch a lot of the time. Manufacturer's mount is where the makers of the ski recommend you mount the bindings (usually between park and powder mount). Finally Powder mount is the furthest back on the ski which allows for more tip length and float in powder. If you wish to get more technical on where we mount your skis, please contact customer service.

Ideal Target Skier: All Mountain Park Rider: Skiers that go anywhere on the mountain, and still make trips through the terrain park enough to require twin tips, describe these skiers. They are not afraid to skip park sessions to ski deep powder, but are torn sometimes for their love of hitting rails and jumps in the park.

Carbon And Kevlar Stringer: This ski has Carbon and Kevlar stringers in the tail of the ski to add more pop and extend the life of the ski.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.

Product Questions

Product Questions

Are these skis twin tipped?

I am looking to get a park specific ski for a reasonable price. I have all mountain skis (Volkl Bridges) but want a pair of skis I can use in the park and have a better performance than my Bridges and last without blowing out rails. I am 6'4" and 190lbs. Also, if I get bindings, do they come mounted?

I'm an older, not-aggressive intermediate skier looking to keep up with my kid. I'd a "value" set of skies that will last a while and make it easier to ski--mostly groomers, occasional soft snow or crud, mostly Pacific Northwest conditions. Should I stick with traditional camber or go with newer rocker design? This or other value options appreciated.

How long will they take to ship to California and will the bindings be mounted or do I need to do that?

They got a little rusty after a few trips. Nothing bad, but I wish it didn't happened. But its really not that big of a deal. (Posted on 1/21/2016)
