Free Binding Mounting: We will mount you ski bindings for free whenever you order skis and bindings. If you order boots, too, we can adjust them so they are ready to hit the slopes right out of the box! Just be sure to fill out the mounting form that comes up after checkout.
3 Choice Mount Position : The three choices are as follows. Park Mount is where the bindings are closer to dead center on the ski and is best for freeride skiers who want to ski switch a lot of the time. Manufacturer's mount is where the makers of the ski recommend you mount the bindings (usually between park and powder mount). Finally Powder mount is the furthest back on the ski which allows for more tip length and float in powder. If you wish to get more technical on where we mount your skis, please contact customer service.
Double Titanal Layering: This ski features two layers of Titanal metal alloy, one just above the base, one just below the topsheet. This gives the ski extra stiffness and strength while creating a dampening, or shock absorbing, effect to the ski. This is usually found in the highest grade of racing and competition level freeride skis.
Expert Binding Choices: Some of the binding options (i.e. the Head GTO 15) available for this ski have high din ranges that start at 8 or 9. A very small percentage of skiers will be suitable for these bindings. If you know that you usually set your din at 8 or above, you are in the clear for a high din binding. Otherwise, those bindings are for EXPERT SKIERS ONLY!
Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.
AR Nose Rocker: This type of rocker profile has a rockered tip, camber underfoot and no rocker in the tail. AR Nose Rocker will help the ski float in soft snow while maintaining a solid edge hold on groomed runs.
AR50 Sidewall: Cap in the tip and tail, sidewall under foot that balances performance characteristics with a lower swing weight and increased durability.
Carbon Reinforcement: An added layer of carbon that stiffens up the ski a bit and gives it better rebound when coming in and out of turns. It also gives you some extra ups while hitting jumps and cliffs.
Carbon And Kevlar Stringer: This ski has Carbon and Kevlar stringers in the tail of the ski to add more pop and extend the life of the ski.
Ideal Target Skier: Big Mountain Charger: Top speed, all the time, regardless of terrain, obstacles or children in the way, these skiers need stability on par with professional downhill racers. They are usually looking for long skis that are wide and heavy.
Fiberglass Laminate Matrix: Deliberate directional layering of fiberglass stringers dictates the flex pattern and torsional rigidity of the ski. Basically, it works with the wood core to give the ski its snap and response.
