Atomic's 2015 Live Fit 80 is the 80-flex entry into the Live Fit lineup, obviously! The 80 flex is about middle of the spectrum, making it perfect for some hard skiing, but still forgiving enough for intermediate skiers. The Live Fit boots use the 2 mega buckle system (as opposed to a traditional 4 buckle boot), which makes the boot lighter and since the buckles are wider, they are also easier to fasten and unfasten. These Atomic women's ski boots also use the Live Fit technology, which are elastic zones on the sides of the instep that allows the shell to change width based on the skier's foot. This is a very comfortable, cutting edge techie boot, can't really go wrong here.

This chart provides a safe comfortable size that most all skiers will be able to use. If you are looking for a true skier's performance fit you may want to size down one half to one full size smaller. For most ski boots, the full (.0) size uses the same shell and liner as the half (.5) size (like, 25.0 and 25.5) and will have almost an identical fit.

Description

Details

80 Flex Index: This boot has a flex rating of 80, which is moving out of the softer-entry level boots and into the stiffer more advanced ski boots. A boot of this flex is appropriate for a wide range of skiers, from lower intermediates looking to improve to expert skiers who want a more casual flex.

102-106mm Last: This shell width of this boot is automatically adjustable (thanks to the Live Fit System), and is perfect for recreational skiers, those with average to wide feet, and skiers that like comfort for their feet. That probably makes up 95 percent of the skiing population.

Live Fit: The Live Fit system consists of two elastic zones at the forefoot that instantly adapt to the foot width of the skier. The shell adapts between 102 and 106mm, providing a custom type fit without the hassle of heat molding and expensive shell modifications. Basically, this feature makes these boots fit almost any skier.

Mega Buckles: Instead of the standard 4 buckle system (or sometimes 3), this boot has two oversized buckles that get the same pulling power and fit, with less stuff to worry about. One buckle over the top of the foot- done, one buckle above the ankle- done... Time to start skiing.

Single Micro Exicenter canting: Single canting on the outside of the ankle that will help correct an uneven ski platform. The adjuster stays right in the center, and pivots the boot without changing the fit or flex of the boot.

Tongue Pull: A loop of fabric at the top of the tongue helps in putting on and removing the boots. Pull it forward and to the side and your foot should slide right in.

35mm strap: Wider than average strap at the top of the boot to help keep the boot together and to give good performance while skiing.

Macro adjust ladder: The tooth plate opposite the top buckles can be moved in or out for a huge range of adjustment, and to fit narrow to wide lower legs.

Replaceable Toe and Heel Pads: This is a must-have for skiers that don't live in ski in/ski out condos. When your ski tech tells you that you have to buy new boots because the soles are worn down too much, just laugh at him and tell him to order you a new set of sole plates.

3M Thinsulate Insulation: A lightweight, completely re-engineered liner with 3M Thinsulate Insulation keeps feet warm and responsive even in extremely cold and damp conditions. Thinsulate Platinum surrounds the whole foot while standard Thinsulate is placed in the toe box only.

I have a narrow foot. Do these boots have the twist buckles to adjust the width?

Does this boot allow for a wide calf? I am an intermediate/advanced skier with a wide foot and calf.

What is the difference between the 2015 and 2016 model. I rented some and they were probably the 2016 model.

I tried on a pair of these in men's and the calf was still too snug at the widest setting. Is the women's boot wider in the calf than the mens?

What is the difference between the 2014 boot and the 2015 boot?

The photo shows 90 flex, so which one is correct?

I tried on the Live Fit 80 W in a store and loved the fit immediately. I am also looking into the Atomic Waymaker 80 W. Unfortunately I cannot try it on. The Waymaker looks like a more advanced boot. I am an intermediate skier and ski easier blacks. I don't do moguls or cut through trees. Which boot do you recommend in the long term as far as skill level and quality. My concern is the Live Fit panels will stretch and the boot will pack down and become too loose fitting

My wife is just under 5 foot and has larger calves and average to wide foot. Intermediate skier. Has bought Head cube 3 Mya 10 which is a beautiful boot but unfortunately the smallest size was still too large and now must find something in the correct size. (22.5). Would these atomics be a good option...especially for her lower legs? Thanks

Had a problem finding a boot for my wide foot. This is the one they are so comfortable and do not cut off the circulation in my calf. Unfortunately I received these after the 2017 ski season, so next year will be the test. (Posted on 4/12/2017)

I have really small feet and very developed calves having been a gymnast many years ago.

I can honestly say these are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. Its' the first time in memory when I didn't have to rent boots that were too big to accommodate my calf.

Two Clips also a really nice feature.

I also get very cold easily. I was skiing in Vail this past week and it was -9 in the mornings. I used toe warmers and for the most part - my feet were warm most of the time.

I would suggest an insole or Orthodic inside the boot - better support overall.

LOVE my boots! Wish I had discovered them years ago and saved myself so much agony! (Posted on 1/30/2017)

Being short and stocky I've had issues finding boots that fit. These are the first pair of boots that fit right out of the box. Looking forward to a ski season without pain. (Posted on 9/7/2016)

Bought these for my lady friend. She loves them. First boots she can wear out of the box without having to pay a fortune to have them altered to accommodate her bunions (yes, she used to love heels). (Posted on 5/10/2016)

Got these boots last week, went skiing for four hours yesterday and my feet were so happy. If you have wide feet with a high arch, you will love these. The staff at the level nine retail store in slc did a great job finding options that worked for my weird shape foot. The grippy pads on the bottom of these boots made walking around concrete feel safe. My feet stayed warm in 20 degree skiing. Very happy customer! (Posted on 12/17/2015)
